Editorial Reviews

CD Description
'X' is the third album from the original losers of the first ITV Popstars series and are one of the only acts that havemanaged to survive the reality TV talent show explosion. Written entirely by the band themselves, the album is a mix ofUK pop and R&B and features a remaking of the classic 'Dirty Cash'. The single 'Song 4 Lovers' featuring Run DMC's Reverend Run is also included.

Liberty X's Best Album4
This is Liberty X's best album, easily. Might not say that much if you have the previous two, on the first the singles seemed to be the only tracks which were really strong and on the 2nd it was full of ballad filler...but onto the 3rd.

It is a strong pop album (ignoring the bonus tracks at the end of the album because everyone already knows them). It has some really great songs on it, the stand out one for me is the title track X - it has the best chorus since Just A Little. It sounds so unique yet familiar at the same time. Throughout the album the bands voices sound strong and they complement each other well. Dirty Cash is a strong cover and Divine Intervention is a beautiful ballad.

The next single "It's Ok" is probably the weakest track, very average and doesn't really go anywhere - the verses are quite nice but the backing track doesn't live up to the vocal. It sounds like a demo, it's very mid-tempo and middle of the road for them and something which would fit perfectly on Being Somebody.

Shotgun is a great dance track and Move Ya Body reminds me a lot of Britney's Hook Up, a bit dancehall esque.

Song For Lovers is a song which many people have debated over whether it is good or not, personally I love it - although I do wish that it was more Liberty X than Reverend Run. The version on the album includes Jessica's intro and the "I promise i'll be there for you" bit's at the end.

It is a strong album, with 7 really strong songs out of 10 which is good odds really. If you like Liberty X's singles then go for this eclectic mix of songs.

Their Back!!!!! And Better Than Ever5
I bought this album when it was first released, when i saw the tracklisting i was amazed that thwere were only 10 new tracks on the album by such a great band! why only 10 tracks? They had been away nearly 2 years and only managed to do 10 new tracks for the album.

Liberty X have changed record labels to the same as robbie williams so it goes to show how good they are if they are on the same label as robbie.

When i first played the album i was really shocked at the change in this band, the sound is so much more grown up but still not too different from their old albums to make them have a new sound.

The album opens with X, this song really sums up the band nicely, you have to really listen to the lyrics to find the story, it is the story from the beginning until now...

Track 2: It's OK....what a beautiful song with meaning, they give this song the passion it needs..

Track 3: Song 4 Lovers, debut single off the album, stands out in the album...brilliant

Track 4: Then There Was You....Feels like an everybody cries sort of song but ever so much more!

Track 5: Shotgun....amazing, you can never get bored of this song, defenately single material, upbeat dance track

Track 6: Yo DJ...great track....b-side to song 4 lovers...real pop anthem

Track 7: In My Bed, amazing song!! brilliant meaning to it (it is about wanting to hide away from the world when your feeling down)

Track 8: Dirty Cash, excellent reamake of a classic....could be a big hit in the clubs!!!

Track 9: Move Ya Body, shows liberty x off in their finest! shows they can do other material and really get a away with it, reggae pop song...Great!!!

Track 10: The album closes its new tracks with a beautiful song! really could see this song as being a charity song, it is all about there being war and hunger in the world and it cant be sorted out on your own, we need to join together and help one another!!
