Great - Can't wait till part 2!!!
I've just bought this game and I've been playing it all day. I have been travelling from London Kings Cross to Darlington all my life and the route is so realistic! The 125 mph 225s and 125s are superb and the 317 is all right. Each train has a unique cabview, passanger view, sounds and outside they're great! I've got several add-ons and this is ONE OF THE BEST! In both GNER and the original Intercity and NSE liveries, they won't disappoint you. I'm a bit sad that Europeanbahn are ending the simulator at York and not extending it to Newcastle, but I still recommend it to everyone. Both parts will be a total of 180 miles.
Gner East Coast Express Part 1 - London to Peterborough
i got the game 2wks ago and i am very impressed with the game. I mostly enjoy playing the explore route, the activity's ARE GOOD, except where you have to keep to the time limit becouse you have to go over the speed limit to get to the station on time and then get told off for speedin it's silly but all in all it's a fearly good game. I went on one of the routes the other day and every think is the same as the reality route. I GIVE THIS GAME 98% OUT OF 100%
Review of GNER/ WAGN east coast express. *****
Trains.
Class 91.
IT IS EXELLENT!!!!!!!!!!! the trains like the class 91 sound so relistic and can see sparks from the pontagraph. good cabview and a good interior view of the coaches. comes in INTERcity mainline livery and GNER livery. you can make the horn go Hi-lo
by pushing the space bar and lo-hi by pushing B on the keyboard.
Class 43.
also exellent! a diesel locomotive with a good interior and comes in INTERcity mainline livery and GNER livery. cabview is very relistic yet again you can make the horn go Hi-lo by pushing the space bar and lo-hi by pushing B on the keyboard.
Class 317.
Yet again another excellent one. with relistic cabview and a definate coach interior (as I went on this train yestarday April 15th 2006 from stevenage to Finsbury park). and can set the horn only Hi-lo by pushing the space bar with a pontagraph that sparks on the wires.
Activities.
There are 15 actvities using the class 91,class 43, and class 317. most of them are Peterborough-Kingscross/Kingscross-peterborough. a few red signals, tunnels and speed limits from 15mph to 125mph.
Scenery
the scenery is quite relistic but not the proper scenery like factorys near sandy as there not there. bridges and stations are familiar if you've traveled on the line. overhead wires are proper shaped.
Other.
the first reviewer gave it a rating of 2 stars because he had a
few faults, gremlins, the train derailing when stationary, the train un-coupling at 30mph but none of this has happened to me as i've traveled the whole route twice. he thinks its a poor rolling stock and is un-realistic because the speed limit is 150mph on some of it which is not true.
