Synopsis
This sumptuous, erotic film is a faithful adaptation of Bram Stoker's classic novel. In 1897 London, Jonathan Harker (Keanu Reeves) leaves fiancee Mina (Winona Ryder) and journeys to Transylvania to meet Count Dracula (Gary Oldman). While keeping Jonathan a prisoner in his castle, Dracula travels to London to find his reincarnated soul mate Mina.
Customer Reviews
Dark, beautifull, chilling; maybe the best Dracula film?
A strong cast (perhaps not performing to their full ability) and a great director, maybe this isn't as good as it should be, but it is beautifull, dark and very gothic. It follows the well-known tale of Dracula, where Dracula (a vampire) traps a lawyer and seeks his lover, later seducing her and all around her before being hunted and faught by Van helsing and others. Some of the scenes are quite incredible, dracula turning into a mount of rats, the three naked woman vampires climbing out of the matress to haunt (and make love) with Dracula's prisoner. The film is visually breath taking and all the many effects are very stylish and imaginative (we not only get vampires but also, werewolfs and other hideous monsters. Gary Oldman makes a very sinister Dracula and all the sets, costumes, etc, are very unique and fantastic. Although the film can get slightly tedious and certain scenes are a bit weak, it's worth watching and highlighting just for the look of the film. Whether it's the best Dracula film ever, it's certainly the most beautifull and exciting. Romantic, bloody, chilling, atmospheric, this isn't for typical horror fans, but a film that anyone can watch and be amazed.

Great to revisit the "classic" movie - well, it is some years since it's release! Puts the Fun into Fangs!
