Shadows Fall RULE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I saw this band live as a support for Kittie and I was absolutely blown away by their playing. They actually play solos which isnt common for a standard band these days but then again Shadows Fall are not your average metal band. Think of beutifull and technical guitar parts, fast double bass drum beats and growling vocals and you might be able to start thinking of what these guys are capable of.
You must buy this CD. Your ears will thank you!!!
Stand out tracks are To Ashes, Of One Blood, Dead World and Root Bound Apollo.
stunning
I got 'Art of Balance' bout a year before this and although I still totally love that album this is their best (so far, I haven't heard sombre eyes to the sky yet). On 'art of balance' they moved towards a kinda killswitch quasi-metalcore sound, but here their roots in Gothenburg melodic death and 80's thrash are a lot more apparent. The vocals have a lot more bite to them and all in all the song writing is more complex, more progressive, more metal, heavier and just better. And its got all their best songs, like 'to ashes'. 'Flesh hold' '1st noble truth' and 'root bound apollo'. 'To ashes' is a classic. And to top it off u get the deadworld ep and 3 live tracks
What more could you ask for? This is a genuine essential metal album that you will need someday
