Product Description

'Strangers' tells the story of Tom Chaplin, Tim Rice-Oxley and Richard Hughes, who formed Keane in '97 at school in Sussex, did their first gig in '98, signed a record deal in 2003, released their debut album 'Hopes & Fears' in 2004 and went on to conquer the world with a voice, a piano and a set of drums. The film charts Keane's musical progression from a four-piece guitar band to the three-piece piano-based group that they've become today, and shows how they went on from playing tiny gigs on the UK pub circuit, to winning 2 Brits awards and selling nearly 5 million albums around the world.

This 2 DVD set features a 1 hour behind the scenes film of the band on the road, 16 live performances, 2 photo galleries, 6 promo videos, 2 'making of' videos, various concert visuals and Richards kitchen sink, all of which adds up to a must-have for any self-respecting Keane fan.

Customer Reviews

An unusual menu system - but easy to navigate5
For those having trouble accessing specific tracks on this DVD here's a tip: just play the main documentary from the beginning, and skip through to the song you want.

At each point titles will appear on screen for all options (eg, video, interview, demo, live, etc).

Not that hard, is it..?

BRILLIANT FILM!5
So many groups have been compared to the Beatles over the years (mostly unjustifiably) that I hesitate to add to the list. However, Keane's similarities are just too striking to ignore: for Paul & John we have Tim & Tom, for a laid-back drummer named Richard we have....a laid-back drummer named Richard. George? Well, he always was the quiet one! Catchy, memorable songs - they've got 'em. Talent? In abundance. Even their home town, Battle, sounds like the famous group. And now, with the arrival of this DVD, we can add engaging and endearing personalities.

Any fan of the band will surely not be disappointed with this hugely entertaining 2-disc set, which runs to nearly 3 & a half hours, the highlights, for me, being: a) their performance of SOMEWHERE ONLY WE KNOW at the Brixton Academy, with the entire audience joining in the final verse & chorus, and b) CAN'T STOP NOW, performed at the Aragon Ballroom, Chicago.

The one thing they cannot match is the fame & acclaim of the Fab Four. Perhaps one day...In the meantime. we can enjoy their special talent in this brilliant film, which does them justice - and more!

Keane DVD4
As previously stated, the menu is really naff. That said, great band and definately one the fans will love. Hopefully, if they ever make another one they'll use a more conventional menu.
