Customer Reviews
Poor quality
I have used Verbatim on numerous occasions in the past and always been very happy with the item. This particular spindle , however, is of extremely poor quality. Keep coming up with error message "disc is dirty".Other blank dvd's I have still work fine with my Sony HDD recorder, so definitely the fault of the discs. Packaging is also different to picture displayed.
I have just noticed another poor review. Recommend purchase of alternative brand until quality control issues resolved on this item.
Maybe its just the spindle I got but....
These are the worst DVD-Rs I have ever used...I bought them on the strength of reviews here having always used big brand names in the past. Out of the 50 DVDs I've used so far 20 have not recorded properly (using Nero)...I will avoid this brand now and urge you to do the same...
Competitive price and no epic fails.
I had been putting off making backups of my music and movie collections so I had to buy in bulk. Having so far burnt off around half the batch using 4x speed (to ensure a good copy without buffer underrun problems) and a backup of an XBOX game at 16x speed to check the transfer, I have had no problems - everything has worked first time fresh out of the drive, no wasted DVD coasters.
Verbatim is an appropriate name - unlike some budget brands you get perfect copies each time, assuming that your DVD burner is up to scratch of course. My cheap generic unit has worked well so I think these would work well in almost any half-decent writer. And kudos to Amazon for it's usual lightning-fast delivery which was a whole week ahead of schedule!
