Perfect beside the fault
I've had this remote for around 6 months so thought I would post up my thoughts on the thing.

Simply, its been fantastic. Besides some devices not powering off when they are supposed to on the odd occasion it has been superb, no problems with it whatsoever.

However, I would have given it 5 stars if it hadn't have been for the fault. In January, the LCD display was missing several lines so you couldn't read the display properly. I sent an email to the german company I ordered it from on Amazon Marketplace who said that they wanted to have a look at it before they would send a replacement. I found this very difficult to arrange as I would have to pay for shipping and then wait while they assess it. I phoned up the Harmony support line and got them to deal with it. He had me resetting it and what not which didn't help then said the query had been escalated and someone would email me within two days.

The next day I got an email asking for my address and saying that a brand new unit would be sent to me and I had to do would be to send the battery cover of the old one. They had disabled it from their system so it couldn't be updated.

Fast forward to a few days ago with the second unit. I come to turn on my system after using it previously in the same day. The whole display on the 525 is blank. Nothing will get it to come on. Luckily I have a rough idea of what buttons do which so I can manage. Phoned logitech up again and they have sent me another one. Not arrived yet but we'll have to see how that goes. I think I'll be trying to get a better unit out them if it happens again as the third one to go would be crap basically.


Other than the problem I would highly recommend it, to be honest even with the problem Logitech have absolutely fantastic customer support, so it doesn't really matter.

Wow - fantastic
Got this remote today and have to say what a brilliant universal remote. Three main points for my 5 star rating:

1) it took no more than 5 minutes to set up 5 devices on it via the PC software.

2) it works brilliantly with my Telewest TVDrive digital cable box

3) it even works with my Joytech TriLink HDMI switcher.

4) it can turn on/off any number of devices in a group like TV and Cable box, but nothing else.

Very impressed.

Buy this gizmo
Been using this remote for a couple of weeks now, having tried and discarded, in frustration, similar products from Kameleon, Sony and Cambridge Audio. I use it to control my tv, a DVD recorder, a DVD player, a VCR, a Sky HD box and a surround sound amplifier. It is excellent!

Beware, though, the software for the machine is web based and requires both an internet connection and a bit of patience. All in all it took approx 90 minutes to programme ....... but it works flawlessly having invested that time.

Thoroughly recommended.
