From Frizz to Smooth and Sleek
Recently had my daughter visit the hairdressers for a radical new look, going from unruly long thick wavy hair to shoulder length and styled hair, (must say that she got fed up with being called 'Bush' at school so was long looking forward to the visit.

Well at the hairdressers she decided to go for a sleek shorter look, just above the shoulder and straight. I was amazed when I left her and came to pick her up she looked so, so different but in a good way.

Anyway the stylist recommended that she bought the GHD straightners, (the price was well over £100.00 in the hairdressers) then along with the range of hair goodies, the serum, special shampoo, conditioners etc, etc, is it a licence to print money I wonder? Well husband suggested that we look on line and see if we say any cheaper, I trawled the internet and lo and behold Amazon were doing a deal on these Babyliss ones.

These were too good to miss out on I thought, they were less than half price, Argos and other retailers were selling them for £75.00 plus, Amazon £30.00 approx with free delivery, so no car parking charges or hassle of taking kids then ending up buying more things, you know what it is like go out shopping for one thing with children and end up with more. A few of the mum's at school really jealous as I managed to get such a good deal on these or they had bought the GHD's and spent all that extra on something that does the same with same results. (With the difference the next couple of hair cuts could be paid for).

The main thing is they work brilliantly, you do panic at first though when you smell burning, but this is due to it being so hot, I didn't realize just how hot they get, (the same as the GHD's but no burnt hair thankfully, what you do get is smooth sleek straight hair without any fuss. The finished result is the same as the dearer ones, they also come with a five year guarantee (no doubt the style she has will have changed by then but).

These things really are a doddle to use, never used them before, always thought they looked at little bit like torture equipment but they are wonderful and not too heavy to handle either which is another consideration when choosing something like this.

The cord is on a swivel so no getting the cord knotted or twisted up, really easy to use. Comes with a mat to protect surface from hot appliance and also hair clips to use whilst doing it.

I can only praise the makers of this super item, something that does the same as the expensive GHD's but at a fraction of the price with no compromise.

The only minus is that the on/off switch can easily be pressed when using it with your finger so you may be putting your hair through it and accidently turn it off, but if that is all I can moan about well not bad at all.

Perfect for curling too!
I bought this straightener to create ribbon curls. Not having owned a straightener before, I was really impressed with how quickly this heated up (much quicker than the Babyliss tongs I own) and how easy it is to use, right out of the box.

The straightener is very light and easy to twist hair around to create the perfect ribbon curls. I also managed to curl my entire head much faster than using a pair of tongs, despite not having done it before and only learnt how to do it on a video in YouTube.

This is extremely compact and small enough such that I would bring it with me on a weekend trip away. If you have fairly straight hair and want a tool that can do both straightening and curling, this is the perfect tool for you.

The Best
I bought these strighteners Babyliss pro 230 for myself. I think they are the best strighteners I have ever used. They are just so easy to handle and great fast results. In my house we have 5 sets of hair straighteners what with me and my three children/teenagers using them. We have very expensive ones like Babyliss pro elegance and GHD's but these seem to be the favourite. If you are looking for strighteners give these a try honestly they are great.
