The best got better?
Like many people who already own a pair of Sennheiser's excellent PX-100 headphones I'd been hoping they'd see the light and produce an equally good set of headphones with a more secure fitting - guess what, they did! These are basically just PX-100's with a street-style neckband and that means you probably won't get a better sounding pair of headphones for iPod use without spending a lot more.
The first impression of the sound quality is that they sound as good as the PX-100's (so that's very good!) but slightly more insistent or even harsh - but this is probably because I'm comparing new with old and much used, they'll probably mellow slightly with use. Tip for iPodders - try using these headphones with the EQ setting on 'Jazz' and they sound especially great, thankfully without sounding too 'EQ-ed'.
The neckband fitting works well and they exert quite a firm pressure on the ears (yes, especially with big heads like mine!) and feel completely secure and comfortable in use. The actual neckband doesn't 'hug' the neck like some styles so it looks a bit like you've put a pair of PX-100's on wrong - but it's OK. Note that these headphones don't fold (altho the earpads swivel flat) and don't come with a carry-case like the PX-100's - hence the slightly lower price perhaps?
Highly recommended, especially for iPod/mobile users who like to hear some BASS!
Unbeatable Headphones For The Price
Already owned a pair of PX100 headphones, and these are incredible. Then my wife wanted a pair that would not fall off the head while moving around - therefore read the reviews on these and thought they were worth the risk .
Wow - they are even better than the px100 . The base is much louder and mainatains a crisp , sharp quality , as does the whole sound range . Cannot fault them for the price.
They do require running in, so have to use them for about 72 hours or so. Secondly, the ear clips are a little tight at first, but soon improve with use. MInor issue really when compared to the quality of the product .
Spend the extra few pounds and get a pair of these
Bobby Dazzlers !!
I have had many different sets of headphones ever since I bought my first cassette Walkman many moons ago but none of them have ever impressed me as much as these beauties.
As close as you will get to home audio quality whilst on the move. It has made a big difference to my walk to work - I am smiling all the way.
Treat yourself.
