Synopsis
Co-created and produced by innovative filmmaker Spike Jonze (BEING JOHN MALKOVICH, ADAPTATION) as an offshoot of the anything-goes skateboard videos that gave him his first taste of success, MTV's smash-hit television series JACKASS unites a cast of low-rent daredevils who are ready to capture their unique and often painful brand of adolescent antics on video. JACKASS ringleaders Johnny Knoxville, Steve-O, Chris Pontius, and Bam Margera goad the rest of their hyper-hormonal cohorts through a variety of ridiculously dangerous and dangerously ridiculous stunts from blind skateboarding and COOL HAND LUKE-inspired egg-eating contests (vomiting included) to swimming in full portapotties and wheelbarrow-racing down very steep hills for a postmodern spin on Grand Guignol spectacle. This collection presents JACKASS's highly anticipated first volume.

Goddamn MTV1
For all you who were pleased to hear that Jackass Vol 1 was finally released then prepare to be dissapointed. Like Vols 2 and 3 MTV have strangely decided not to include the whole series, but have instead opted to release a best of collection, which is where the trouble kicks in. The best skits of the series (Self Defence, God vs. Satan, The Shockwave Collar, The Roller Jump, Up In Flames, Bam's Trampoline Madness, the Poo Hug, Ryan's Roof Jump, No Shirt No Shoes No Service) have not the made the cut, yet thye lamest ones have (Dave's Doorstop, Pontius' Naked Rollerblading, Bam's Fastfood Fall, The Bread and Squid Suits). It just doesn't make sense. There are some skits that redeem it slightly like the Shopping Carts and the Poo Dive and some of the series two and three skits that weren't included in Vols 2 and 3 have been included here (like Fisherman's Wharf and the Stilt Fall), but other than that it's hard to find anything good to say about this. It doesn't even come in the same box as displayed on the Amazon picture.

Pure Genius5
What can i say , well its the greatest stunt dvd you could ask for it has almost everything from the first series like shopping carts, poo cocktail and self defense (johnny being shot with taser darts sprayed with mace and cattle prodded)
