Good Value For Small Explosion
Bought this back in April 2006 and was really happy with it for over two years. No problems. BUT BEWARE - while watching Arsenal play last night (no connection I hope) the Digi box blew up!! Loud crack noise and smoke belching out, really quite scarey. I'm just glad we were in the house when this happened as the consequences may have been more serious.
Poor quality
This is the second "cheap" electronic product I have bought from Amazon and both have gone wrong shortly after the guarantee period. This digibox seemed fine at first but started to become temperamental after a few months and now has packed in altogether. A make to be avoided.
possible fire hazzard?
I bought two of these boxes just over a year ago - and 5 mins ago one just went 'bang' and started smoking! Is this a possible fire hazzard?? What do I do with the other box that is for the moment ok??? I see from other comments that this has been an 'iffy' product as soon as the guarantee runs out - but surely these should have passed some sort of safety tests and although they won't last forever - just out of the guarantee is crap - plus what if it had caught fire or taken out my TV with it - what recompense then?? I want some serious answers from Amazon.
