hook up your hi-fi and kick back!
I received a late Christmas gift on Dec 29th from some friends oh well I thought probably some comedians new tour recorded live or the complete series of some sit com; the best thing about being totally wrong was of course it was the new Jack Johnson "A weekend at the Greek" dvd
I am fortunate enough to have my dvd hooked up to an old amp and wharfdales and was this a tremendous joy to play.Interwoven between songs are snippits with the band and clips of Jack talking about how certain songs came about "Bubble Toes" a great example ,Johnson really is that laid back about everything and it shows when he plays the band are basically all on the same wave and just really enjoy everything they do.
Best of all this dvd is recorded with such clear and careful precision the bass is probably the richest ive heard in a long time;buy this dvd not only is it a must for fans but for anyone who hasnt heard this guy come aboard enjoy the ride
get on your baggy t shirt; surf shorts; flip flops hook up your hi-fi and kick back!!!

Fantastic Show but...
Firstly - The Show. Live at the Greek.

Simply fantastic, I am so envious of anybody who was there when it was recorded. If youre a fan of Jack Johnson, this is stunning. The band sound better than on the CD's here in 5.1 Surround. There's something on here thats just not captured on the CD's. A lot of the songs are given a evolved rendition, example the piano an melodica 'battle' in staple it together. Theres plenty of cuts scences where the show is cut with footage of the band jamming a song or a quick interview or some info on how a track came to be.

I would have give this show a maximum five stars but the only downside is that on my DVD - it seems that the sound and picture is sometimes slightly out of sync. Even so - This is still a must have for any fan of either Jack Johnson or Live Music DVD fans in general.

Beautiful Music
A beautiful dvd, great to watch, or great just to have on as background. I never tire of this dvd, it always makes me wish I was sat in the sun at a festival.
