Manufacturer's Description
As the next generation of video games approaches, Tiger Woods is up for the challenge. Tiger Woods PGA TOUR® 06 delivers ultra-realistic course environments, allowing gamers to experience the intensity of a championship golf tournament. With greatness comes pressure, as players are put to the test of making perfect tee shots or sinking tournament-winning putts in crunch time. The power of the next generation consoles delivers revolutionary gameplay and gives Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 06 the ability to recreate some of the world's most beautiful courses like never seen before. Advanced lighting techniques provide a much better sense of terrain undulation and the contours that make each course unique. This gives players the ability to realistically interpret approach shots or a crucial putt on a rolling green.
Just as it is on the PGA TOUR, the key to a good shot is execution and precision. In Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 06 both analog sticks are used to give more control than ever over each shot. The left analog stick will continue to control the backswing and downswing, while the right analog stick, or "shape stick", controls ball trajectory and spin. Players are now challenged to focus on the impact point on the ball, while thinking more strategically before executing a shot.

Average at best...
I've got to say that I am disappointed that anyone would give this game 5 stars.
Apart from the well publicised stripping down that EA seems to have done for all of their 360 release day titles, I thought Tiger 06 on 360 is decidedly average. No new break throughs in game play and while the look of the game is better that ever before, it still doesn't conjure up the kind of Next Gen feeling that CoD2 or Perfect Dark do.
Oversights like the power boost button being placed on the left Bumper and the tiny in game text, which is illegible on my 28" Sony TV meant that I found it very hard to enjoy this game and took it back without delay and swapped it for Fifa RTFWC06, which is also stripped down, but in my opinion is infinitely more enjoyable from the moment you take control.
Don't get me wrong, Fifa isn't going to redefine the path of gaming, it too is pretty average, but it's just more fun to play.
Avoid Tiger 06 if you are used to the previous versions, if you aren't and you like golf then give it a go, if you have a spare £50 knocking about. Otherwise my advice is to wait for the 07 versions of ALL EA games on the 360, when I confidently predict they will be back with a vengeance.
Not THAT Bad
Other reviews saying this game is terrible and its not, granted if you have the other Tiger Woods games then this isnt that good, but if your new to Tiger like me and fancy a great golf game then you can do a lot worse than this. Graphics really good, Commentary is good and sometimes funny, yes less game modes than other versions but still enough to enjoy (that goes for courses too)
Dont be so harsh, its an enjoyabe game when you get good at it.
(other reviewers probably review it after 10 minutes of play, give it time it definetly grows on you)
Rip off
Apart from the fact that the lack of courses and challenges makes you bored after only a short time, the placement of the power boost button in such an awkward place means it's almost impossible to generate any power unless you can turn the controller up towards you and bang it with your hand! The lack of items in the shop is very disappointing as are the graphics on some of the courses. You cannot see the hole at all on some greens making putting very difficult. All in all I could maybe have put up with the inferiority to previous Tiger Woods games if it were not for the ridiculous price. Don't buy this, you'll be very cheesed off, wait for the next one when hopefully they will have reintroduced all the features that made 2005 so enjoyable to play.
