Synopsis
In the small coastal town of Capeside, Massachusetts, a group of high school kids come of age, each with their own set of trials and tribulations. Affluent, 15 year-old Dawson Leary (James Van Der Beek), idolises Steven Spielberg and wants to be a film maker. He has been friends with Joey (Katey Holmes) who lives across the pond with her pregnant sister since they were both five, but their friendship is changing now that their hormones are kicking in. The arrival of attractive new girl Jen (Michelle Williams), however, changes their relationship in even more, unexpected ways. Meanwhile Dawson and Joey's friend Pacey (Joshua Jackson) finds himself embroiled in a sticky situation with a pretty young teacher. Created by Kevin Williamson, DAWSON'S CREEK is filmed on location in Raleigh, Durham, and Wilmington, North Carolina. The complete series.

fab deal thanks amazon5
i was lucky enough to get this box set for 29.99 - what a great deal

i have never seen dawsons creek before and i have no idea why people are complaining about the music - maybe it isn't the original but the soundtrack is fantastic all the same. I could watch it for the music alone but the storyline is brilliant

Not necessarily for teens either as i am in my mid-thirties but like young stuff

anyway my best purchase for a long time

do not buy the finale seperately .......4
I completed the box set which I thoroughly enjoyed and noticed on Amazon that they recommended the finale DVD and the box set as a good buy. I didnt read the reviews as I didnt want to spoil my viewing but never dreamt that the finale is exactly the same as what is included in the boxset. Do not make the same mistake I made and Amazon why are you recommending people to buy both DVD's it doesn't make sense.Besides duplicating the finale I have to say that I was consumed with Dawson's Creek fever and recommend this as easy and enjoyable viewing.

Everyone gets the original music except us4
Now I'm not an expert on music rights but this seems unfair. Watch the episodes with the English soundtrack and many of the songs have been replaced. Long term fans will be extremley annoyed! For example Dawson and Joey's kiss in the rain at Pacey's Bday party. The song kiss the rain has been replaced with a cheesy song. This just ruins the scene; yet press the audio button and the song is on the French, Itallian and German soundrack. How does that work? The end song save tonight is too but once again our version is different. It gets worse by season 3 the main title music has been replaced with the original season 1 music. Personally I can live with that as I don't mind the song and a simple press of the audio button will bring back the real music. This is still a great series - alot of the music is still intact as the scenes don't work without it. But many scenes don't work now because of other music cuts - I think this is why this DVD set is so cheap. They should have paid for the rights and I'd have paid much more for the episodes. It's worth buying for season one (uncut) and it's cheap enough to watch the other seasons which steadily get worse. One and two are the best before Williamson left. Loses a star for the lousy music replacement
