Fantastic
I had looked at several products that did the same thing and nearly came close to buying another, but decided not to as their website description said little about the product but endlessly went on about how brilliant they thought they were at being ergonomic.

I then looked at the Ergotron LX Desk Mount Arm and went to their website. The product details are good and the downloadable instructions helped me decide that this might be what I was looking for. I took the chance and am so glad I did.

It takes roughly 10 mins to put everything together and most of that was my own stupidity and not following the instructions correctly.

The base clamps on to the back of your desk and the bracket is almost flush, so you don't need to worry about having a large gap if your desk is against the wall. My desk top is made out of glass, so I put in a small board underneath to evenly distribute the pressure. I don't know if this is necessary, but I didn't want to risk breaking the glass.

My Monitor is a 24inch dell, so I was worried the arm might not be able to take the weight. Upon attaching, the monitor just sank to the bottom - as did my heart at thinking I had wasted £75. I looked at the instructions again and noticed that there is a bolt you can turn that adjusts the tension. After a few turns the monitor stayed in the position and you get, what appears to be, a floating monitor.

The unit has a column unit that clamps on to the back of your desk. It can also be screwed in. There are two arms, one solid and the other adjustable. The adjustable one is then fixed on to a plate which then is attached on to the back of the monitor. Join all the arms up and adjust the tension to balance the weight. The arm allows the monitor to move up, down, forwards, backwards, side to side and rotate in any direction.

I am so impressed with the design of this product and the thought that has gone into making it. The design of the adjustable arm alone is outstanding.

As with any product of this kind, you will notice an instant gain in desk space.

I can't say I have been able to compare this product with anything similar, so can't give an objective review. However, I can honestly say that it is very rare that I have bought something and found no fault. This is that 1 in 1000 product.

Strong and well made
I am using this Ergotron LX to support my 24" LCD monitor. The stand enables you to easily adjust the position of your monitor, just by grabbing hold of the bezel on either side of your monitor.

My 24" monitor does wobble a bit when typing, due to its weight. A smaller and lighter monitor might not wobble so much. But, I can remedy that by "landing" the bottom edge of the monitor on to the top of my centre speaker.

Apart from allowing you to easily adjust your seating position, to avoid back aches, this stand also makes dusting the desk, and accessing the video inputs on the back of the monitor, much easier.

such a desk tidier!
I just moved to a new place and my desk was kind of small. Switched to use the arm and a wireless set and voila! I get all my desk space and all the ergonomy I wanted. Really good product! very recommended!
