Customer Reviews

Maybe not so chilled but still good fun4
I agree with the other reviews here in that this workout DVD, when doing the full wokrout is quite strenuous and for the beginner it may seem really daunting. However the opition to choose workouts is excellent. It gives u an opportunity to go through the workouts before trying the full routine.

'Salute & Strengthen' is quite hardwork, 'Core Strength & Flex'is more relaxing but works the central abdomen, and 'Standing Yoga & Dance' is inbetween.

The pace of these workouts is quite fast and it may be worth watching them through and practicing bits before attempting the workout. When she's advising about breathing for the first couple of sessions I'd ignore this unless u've done pilates before. It often distracts you from learning the routines. Having three levels of standard is good and they reasonably clear to follow.
The guided meditation as a warm down is a good way of relaxing on its own.

The key thing to remeber with this DVD is that if you could do all the exercises straightaway there would be nothing to build up to. Doing even the shorter workouts will still get you extremley fit and flexible with this DVD. If you want a more relaxing DVD then maybe a purely yoga one would be better, but this is really a good combination of strenuous exercise that gets you sweating with calmer more chilled out routines.

Give it a few goes!4
I have just tried the the DVD for the first time and although being reasonably fit I couldn't finish it! This will definitely be a workout you'd feel the next day! I recommend that you watch the tips and tricks before you start the workout as it gives great technique and posture guidance. The three levels of difficulty enables you to work your stongest muscle groups the hardest and opt for the beginner level on your weakest providing a safe but still demanding workout. The music makes it all the more enjoyable!

My only gripe is that having not tried Pilates before, I struggled to remember when they want to you to breathe let alone the moves! The narration is out of time with the workout so you have to crane your neck in some parts to keep an eye on the tv! I am going to bear with it in the hope that i will learn the moves and remember my inhaling and exhaling!

poised for action5
so this was a bit of a change up, i've bought all the MoS DVDs so far, the pump it up dance DVDs, and i've done some yoga classes before for flexibility, so was very happy to see this side of exercising finally put to a decent soundtrack. the workout looks at pilates and other forms of dance as well, but is basically a relaxing but challenging home workout presented by someone who clearly knows what they're talking about.

good presentation, and i found the option that allows you to do easy, medium and hard versions of the same workout, great idea. i think i've now enough incentive to get working at home, brilliantly put together and surprisingly good.
