Samari Swords still killed more than Zeros in WW2!5
This is actually a better sim than CFS3, because there are such a huge choice of add-ons and downloads that it beats everything else. In a sense the standard Pacific war aircraft here are nothing new or particularly special. Actually the cockpit panels are not the most accurate, but they do a good job and service the 3-d panels which create the effect of being there in the bird-cage of a Zero or Hellcat. the smoke effects and AI planes are more realistic than CFS1, and of course the Pacific scenery is very realistic. Trying to fly in Europe (the whole globe is possible with this sim!) is then diapppointing compared to CFS1, but add-ons like the Dam Busters make CFS2 worth the while. There is no other comparison to a bomber mission, all of which is here possible, althougth it is basically a fighter based sim. In saying that, and FS2000 civil plane will fly nicely too, and scenery fits as well.
The set missions are also challenging, and any plane can be substituted, and even missions edited it you know hwat you're doing. This time the water sprays up when you huit the sea, and the damage marks are left on wings and fuselage sections. the AI aircraft can also be flown, which is great because the B-24 (standard Allioed Bomber of the pacific) is very good. Aircraft carriers are ther too, and weapons have all matured to various rockets or bomb types over CFS1 (No atom bombs or B-29 here to drop it). The radio calls are also exciting. there are even some tips for what to not do in a Zero (dive) and how to keep the momentum of a Hellcat or Corsair up at all times.
Very unusual types are available from the internet for CFS2, The ONLY simulation version of the mighty German He-177 Bomber is found for CFS2, and that goes for Vindicators and a host of other important WW2 types. If you don't have this sim, then you probably don't like aeroplanes!

Infinitely more than it seems5
This has become the classic combat flight sim, not just because of the realism but also because of the worldwide community that supports it. You can download hundreds of free planes from the net - ranging from first world war biplanes through to the latest jets. New aircraft, effects, campaigns and scenery are constantly being created by talented enthusiasts. It isn't limited to the Pacific either - it can be set up with near photo-realistic scenery and topography from just about everywhere in the world. You could for instance clamber into the cockpit of a Beaufighter on a WW2 desert airstrip, take off in a cloud of sand dust and then torpedo a convoy off Malta - or dive out of the clouds in a Russian La 3 to attack a flight of Stukas heading over the Eastern Front. The possibilities are virtually limitless. If you ever wanted to fly old aircraft and relive the dramas of WW2 skies in particular, this is going to be the best value you are ever likely to get.

How not to keep a plane in the air.4
If you, like me are unfortunate enough not to have a decent joystick, or indeed a joystick at all, you'll find this game frustrating, yet so exciting! I started with MCS 1 this was good fun, the scenery was to my knowledge due to it being set initially in europe, sadly this is another example of americanisation, now it is a choice between Japs and Yanks, fair enough the planes are just as easy to fly, but they are all the same to me (Besides the lightning obviously). free flights are really good, they will get boring after a while, but even so, the controls are ricky and thats what makes a good flight simulator a great one funnily enough, laugh at yourself or simply wonder how on earth the aircraft did what it just has. to make it exciting start of at the highest possible altitued (100,000ft) and try to ride out the extreme winds and engine falure of you flimsy, airless cockpit. then try to land... apparently this is an acheiveable task.

Recently I decide to start the quick combat tasks: NOT TO SELF, I always see how I can do by putting on the hardest ofthe hardest of fighter, a wave of eight, and seeing how I do. I died, dramatically. I set it dow to the easiest possible realism, I bomber with anti reverse guns and what have you. Then I started winning, 240 points is my record... go me! one day, just one day I will hit a bomber with a rocket. The best part is the satisfaction of taking out a plane, hitting the engine with a shower of gunfire, its very enjoyable, perhaps over done, since the engine doesn't only smoke, it takes the enitre wing of and rip open the hull! still I'm not complaining watching them fall down into a pile of ash is great satisfaction. Get this game, its now very low cost and a good bit of fun, just have a joystick.
