Dance??? Where???
I think Ms Martine is absolutely fabulous and I was really looking forward to doing a dance work out... the title is misleading - it represents possibly the exercises dancers do???
The direction is beyond lacking. This is not a DVD for beginners because you do have to have a little experience in order to pick up the moves. The pace picks up and slows down with no warning. His direction before a new move is almost non existent.
I was soooo hoping that this would be a great DVD that I could shed those extra pounds, but I was left confused and frustrated!
Next time do it on your on Martine!
ouch! but i like it!!
having just done 2 thirds of this dvd..i would like to say that being a complete novice with lots of flab to shift about..i actually enjoyed doing this one. I havent done exercise for several years now and yes whilst i agree with at times keeping up is hard, if you settle for what you can do of the dvd and keep listening with time i am sure i shall be leaping around my living room like a pro...! (i hope!)
as for the presentation, it was good entertainment because for once here's a celebrity that you can identify with and i hope that i end up with a toned body like martines. As for the diet advice, sensible yes! Difficult - probably! especially from my couch potato point of view! but definatley worth having a crack at and keeping in mind when you're diving for the biscuit tin!!
For the first time in my life i actually feel i have a sporting chance of keeping this up, so here's looking at my vision of fitness and health that feels realistic and achieveable.
Give it a go! I am four stone overweight and i have! If i can do it..anyone can believe me!:)
I love this one!
I bought this DVD just after Christmas, basically to tone the flap and have motivation and fun doing exercising again. I used to work out a lot in the past, Aerobics and all sorts, but I got bored with all the cheesy grins, the awful music and fake tans. The title appealed to me, and hey, there's naught wrong with Martine McC. either.
I've read some of the reviews here, and whilst I agree with some of the statements, I feel that this DVD got too much unfair slacking -- Because it is simply GOOD! The presenter is a nice cheerful chap, the girls in the background seem to be enjoying themselves and Martine's occacional comments make me laugh whilst exercising.
I don't want a crueling and tough workout! I want to enjoy exercising, tone up AND feel great! Which I have...without the pain and suffering.
I usually to this workout three times per week, for one hour (the full-workout is 1 hour long), and to my delight I have toned.
I have lost inches around my waist and hips (!) and my bum has also become more firm. No more flappy bits sticking over my waistline (you know the Muffin look).
Being 37, I have found it increasingly harder to stay in shape compared to 10 years ago, so I welcome excercises that are fun and easy (sometimes) hard (the repetions on the legs) to do.
The upper-body exercises work, the toning section is great and I am very happy with this workout. I laugh along, and wave my cheerleader arms in the air.
Yes, (real) dance it is not! But if I want to dance, I go to a night-club.
I love this workout, it's great. Highly enjoyable and yes, it will tone your body if you stick to following it regulary.
I am giving this 4 stars, because I don't feel it is suitable for complete beginners, who are unfamiliar with exercising and could injure themselves if not careful. I recommend you sit down with a bag of your favourite crisps, watch the DVD, make mental notes of the workout and start the following day!
"It's not a diet, it's a way of Life!" The nutrietional advice is good too, but might be to strict for some.
Good Luck to you and I hope you will be as happy with your new firm body as I am!
