Excellent5
I have played a good few boxing games over the years, and this has been by far the most fun - perhaps because it is portable.

The career mode is very good - just as you think you are on top of the world, your boxer starts ageing, and getting slower, more prone to cuts etc. - just like real life.

The opponents are varied enough to keep it interesting - they have different boxing styles, and some are damn tough.

I found myself taking my ageing ex-champ on one too many fights, and embarrassing myself.

The online mode is great, but there simply aren't enough people using it to make it as much fun as it could be, but I bet the adhoc mode against friends is an absolute blast.

I only have a couple of criticisms - I don't suppose anyone from EA reads this, but just in case, here goes....

Commentary - not varied enough - not always accurate - for example, having defended a title three times, the commentator referred to my next fight as being my '1st defence of the title'

Training - could probably do with a tweak - seemed impossible to actually get the training right, and doesn't seem to make any difference whether it is 1 week to the next fight, or 24 weeks.

Knockdowns - could be a little more varied - even when thrashing an opponent it was impossible to knock him out hard enough to stop him from trying to get back on his feet.

After-fight - I don't know about anyone else, but I'd like to revel in the post-fight victory a little longer :)

Opponents - I'd like my career boxer to have real-life opponents during his career - Ali, Frasier, Bruno, Tyson, Foreman, Norton, McGuigan, Collins, Watson, Holyfield, Eubanks etc. Yes, some of them are available in other modes of the game (although not enough), but I'd like to pitch *my* boxer against them when he is climbing the career ladder - perhaps by being able to choose what era his career starts in.

But please don't get me wrong - these are tiny niggles - the game is the only PSP game that has kept me entertained for any length of time - I have played this so much that I have to massage the joints in my thumbs and plug the PSP into the mains to keep the power going.

At 37 years old, I never expected to enjoy a computer game again as much as this one.

Brilliant5
There are not many games that i play and say they are brilliant but this is one!!!
Graphically stunning, surprisingly short loading times, easy control system, Loads of options and a fantastic career mode make this and essential title for anyone who owns a PSP.

Best graphics on the PSP yet!!!5
I purchased this game today as I've never had a boxing game before. I am extremely impressed so far after just one bout. I like the boxer creation section as it is extremely detailed and you can configure every single part of the face intricately. The controls are simple enough to use, cross and square for left hand, circle and triangle for right. But by far the most impressive part of the game are the graphics. They are extremely smooth and the detail is amazing. All in all I believe that this game uses the PSP to it's full potential and contains the sharpest graphics for a PSP game yet.
