Pure dark pleasure
After making the decision to buy this album purely from a photo advert in Kerrang and listening to a couple of tracks on My Space, what can I say. A definate must buy for fans of Marilyn Manson, Fields of the Nephilim,NIN, Murderdolls, Rammstein and all things industrial. I was expecting a few good tracks and a number of weaker ones but the whole album is a joyous celebration of all that is brilliant about Industrial music. Uplifting in its bleak darkness, I recieved it by post today, have listened to the whole things through my PC at work and have already downloaded the album to my MP3 player.To be played accessively loud over and over again, much I am sure, to the annoyance of my fellow train travellers on the way home.
If you buy any album this month make it this one, you won't be disapppointed.
I'm off now to buy their first album.

The Deathstars - Termination Bliss
Welcome to the world of THE DEATHSTARS. No, nothing to do with Starwars, in fact an Industrial Gothic Metal band from Sweden about to unleash a new album in January.

To set the scene, try to imagine Rammstein singing in English, add a good dosage of symphonic gothic grooves and you're pretty close to THE DEATHSTARS.

This is the second album from the Swedes and follows 2003's 'SYNTHETIC GENERATION'. The 11 tracks on offer span an entertaining 45 minutes and many of the grooves will instantly have you hooked.

Opening track 'Tongues' and the subsequent 'Blitzkrieg' are immediate favourites as crunching riffs combine with memorable choruses to have you nodding your head straight from the off.

Frontman 'Whiplasher' has the perfect voice for this genre, possesing an uncanny ability to adjust between eerie clean vocals, haunting growls and creepy low sneers. His performance on the album is impeccable.

Its difficult to pick out highlights as the album is strong throughout and the wonderful production gives the whole experience a spine-chilling atmosphere from start to finish.

Potential hits? Well its full of them, with 'Blitzkrieg' or 'Play God' getting my vote. A video to match their previous effort (Synthetic Generation) should also provide compelling viewing.

THE DEATHSTARS have a wealth of potential and 'Termination Bliss' proves it. This may be the album that takes them to the next level in metal esteem. Something like a Download appearance or support slot with (say) Marilyn Manson or Rammstein should secure a lucrative UK future. Will they be so lucky? Welcome to the music business.

Brilliant
This is a great album, the heavy riffs and the strong vocal talents of Whiplasher Bernadotte come together to make a work of pure brilliance. This is going to be the next best band to come from the Swedish metal underground scene!
