Arguably the best of the bunch
Wrestlemania Anthology Vol 3 contains Wrestlemanias 12-17, across 8 discs (2 each for 16 & 17). This section of the (thus far) 4-part Anthology is arguably the best.
Some memorable bouts in this series as the WWE (Then WWF) championship flew around, including the first ever Iron Man Match between Shawn Michaels and Bret Hart, Mike Tyson making an appearance as the enforcer as Stone Cold Steve Austin faced Michaels, and as "Mr. McMahon" got involved, The Rock faced Austin (at 15 and 17), as well as the Fatal Four Way between Triple H, Rock, Big Show and Mick Foley.
But that's not forgetting the awesome, death-defying, and not to mention highly painful triangle tag matches the Dudley Boyz, the Hardy Boyz and Edge & Christian were involved in (Ladder match & TLC 2). How about Kurt Angle defending his Euro-Continental championship against Chris Jericho and Chris Benoit in a Triple Threat match? And when Bret Hart hit Austin with the Ring Bell in their submission match? What about when the Ultimate Warrior squashed Hunter Hurst Helmsly in less than 2 minutes at WM12? Triple H would later battle The Undertaker at WM17, knocking out the referee and embarking upon an unofficial street fight through the crowd.
This series really shows the transition from the cartoon world to a more adult theme and into the "Attitude" era, as the gimmicky wrestlers started dropping from WM14 onwards (so much that, at WM17, the WWE could poke fun at itself by hosting a "Gimmick Battle Royal").
For me, WM17 was a great way to end this series off, as it has always been my personal favourite. It had some great matches, great atmosphere, and also marked the point when the WWE went back to large arenas for their WrestleManias.
A word of warning, however. This section of the Anthology (and for that matter, it will effect the whole of the Anthology) has some very heavy editing. We all know why - the WWE had to change their name from the WWF due to their conflict with the World Wildlife Fund. Before the "scratch" logo was used this wasn't a problem - the old WWF logo is apparently fine to use, and apart from a few crowd signs and people saying "WWF", nothing has been edited. But when the logo gets introduced in WM14 (14 also used the old logo as well however), that's when the trouble really starts. All logos have been heavily, and messily edited with blurs, apart from the logo in the corner of the screen, which has been covered up with an emboldened "WWE" scratch logo. Now, I'm no editing expert, but I fail to believe that this is the best the WWE can come up with, even if they don't have the time or resources to edit frame-by-frame. WM17 gets kicked around a bit; the theme music, "My Way" by Limp Bizkit has been removed (due to licensing presumably), and Undertaker's "Rollin'" by said band has been replaced, bizarrely, by Undertaker's old Ministry of Darkness theme. William Regal's old "Goodwill Ambassador" theme has also been overlaid with a more recent theme, for whatever reason. "The Fink", Howard Finkel, has also had to record new ring announcements at several points across all WrestleManias due to his use of the highly offensive word, "WWF".
If you can ignore this cavalcade of poor editing, then you really have a very good boxset here. It doesn't make it unwatchable, it's just annoying. But what's great about this series is that you get a really good mix of WWE legends - Bret Hart, Roddy Piper, Terry Funk, Shawn Michaels, Undertaker, The Rock, Stone Cold, Mick Foley, Kurt Angle the list goes on. These 6 WrestleManias could possibly be the most significant in it's history.
wrestlemania 12 -17
wrestlemania 12-17 was top dont let the bluring of the wwf logo put you buying this dvd colection you notice it at the start and then as it continues you dont notice it much besides the symbol is only blured on 15 16 and 17 but the matches take your mind of all the bluring.

some of the best Wrestlemania moments ever
This box-set covers the time that would become known as the Attitude Era, when the black and white world of the eighties super-heroes crumbled in the face of edgy anti-heroes. Men like The Rock and Steve Austin dominate this box set and its deeply enjoyable for that.
Wrestlemania XII would live and die on its main event since there's not a lot else on the card. Triple H will not ever list Wrestlemania XII on his CV as one of his finest achievements (he's squashed in under a minute by the Ultimate Warrior), although most complaints about the show are minor. Thankfully the hour long Iron Match main event is excellent. Both men were at the top of their game and legitimate friction added to the chemistry between them. This event is proof that a good Wrestlemania only really needs a compelling main event and for most of the matches to be at least watchable.
Apparently WM13 has the distinction of having the lowest buyrate of any one ever. In fairness its far better than some of the others that have gone before it. Like many Wrestlemanias WM13 will be remembered most for one classic match. In this case it was Bret Hart (who was either an amazing actor or the conservatism that seemed to be alienating him from much of his fanbase was for real) taking on the rapidly rising Steve Austin in a bloody and intense submission match. The sight of Austin trapped in the Sharpshooter with the blood literally spurting from his forehead is an iconic image. When we look back over 23 years of Wrestlemanias and their main events Wrestlemania 13 stands out as having the crappiest title match ever. According to Wikipedia a long standing rumour is that Sid literally crapped his pants in the last moments of his match- dunno if that's true, seems a bit too much like life imitating art to me.
Wrestlemania XIV is pretty good with a great main event but is utterly ruined for me by the inclusion of Mike Tyson at ringside. In 1992 Mike Tyson was convicted in raping a beauty queen and was only released in 1995, yet here he was booked as a hero- counting Michaels shoulders to the mat and then punching him out after the bell. Personally I have always found the WWE's attitude to violence on women to be poor at best and disgusting at times and booking a convicted, and unapologetic rapist as a good guy at Wrestlemania sends out a horrendous message.
Wrestlemania XV is the worst in the box. Most of the card runs to the poorer end of the spectrum. Shane McMahon's outing with X-Pac is entertaining enough, he's not a full time worker but the younger McMahon leaves nothing in the locker room every time he climbs into a ring. Triple H and Chyna's "emotional" reunion at the end of his dull match with Kane has barely a millionth of the pathos of Randy Savage and Elizabeth's nearly a decade previously. Wrestlemania XV also features probably the worst Hell In a Cell Match ever. Thankfully a charged and competitive main event between The Rock and Steve Austin (the first of three matches for them at Wrestlemania) saves Wrestlemania XV. Its not a great Wrestlemania, its not even really a good one nor is it one of the direst.
There are a number of enjoyable matches in Wrestlemania 2000, the sheer weight of numbers could have made many of them total car crashes but good booking and actual talent keeps many of them going. The Triangle Ladder Match for the WWF Tag Team Titles is an extraordinary match, eclipsing everything else on the card and being easily one of the defining matches in the event's history. All three teams do a great job and leave absolutely nothing backstage, this match alone would have been worth the price of admission. The 2-Fall Triple Threat match for the Intercontinental and European championships, both held by Kurt Angle, is almost as good a match as one containing these three men should be. A couple of minutes trimmed from the fat elsewhere on the card could have made this a classic. The main event itself is a cracker, the first five minutes show the Big Show as a monster, then on his elimination an enjoyable triple threat ensues, followed by a brilliant one on one match between two top stars at the height of their game. The McMahon involvement is minimal, at least until the conclusion of the match, and if it hadn't been for the unbelievable tag title match earlier this would have been head and shoulders above the rest of the card.
Finally we have the oddly named Wrestlemania X-Seven. A pure wrestling match between Kurt Angle and Chris Benoit and a silly street fight between Vince and Shane McMahon are highlights. The TLC match is not as satisfying an experience as the previous years Triangle ladder match but it is still an excellent match. Despite the overall rubbishness of the gimmick battle royal, thank god for Bobby "By the time the Iron Sheik gets to the ring it'll be Wrestlemania 37" Heenan on commentry. The Rock versus Steve Austin is everything a main event on the biggest pay-per-view of the year should be... dramatic, hard-hitting, unpredictable, emotional, well-booked and well-performed. Comparing Vince's two top men now, Cena and Batista, to this pair is frankly embarrassing. The shock ending, the very last thing anyone ever expected to see when they watched this event live, is a proper Wrestlemania moment.
Overall this is a cracking collection with far more highs than lows and features some all time classic match-ups.
