Causing a sensation5
This European hit is without a doubt an absolute classic!.The American's ignored it/dissed it purely off the back of the flop of Shanghai Surprise without judging the movie+Madonna's acting fairly but if this had been Madonna's 2nd major feature film after "Desperatley Seeking Susan" then the American's would too of loved it and it would've been a major success there too. This is a good as "Susan" and is excellently acted by all the cast including Madonna who plays Nikki Finn. The story involves Nikki being released from the "Slammer"(the movies original title)for the murder of her boyfriend which she didn't commit. She's picked up from the prison by a "wet" lawyer,Loudon, who's "simple" task "Operation Prisoner Shuttle" is to take her to the bus station and make sure she gets on a bus home. However,Nikki finds way's to stick around to clear her name with the unwitting help of Loudon. Her boyfriend gave her a key just before he was murdered,to a deposit's box that holds the evidence of her innocence but she doesn't know the number of the deposit's box so has to get it from the bad guy's first.Needless to say thing's don't go simply as expected and Nikki's mayhem causes Loudon to be mixed up in all kind's of trouble with hilarious result's.Throughout he day he eventually realise's what an exciting person she is and he warms to her after thinking she's "insane" and of course we get a happy ending.I've watched this countless time's as it's an absolute hoot from start to end!.Shame the dvd has no extra's such as deleted scene's and more importantly the "Who's that girl" single's promo video, but what is great however,is that this dvd is uncut(unlike the video which has 85 second's cut over 4 scene's).I also highly recommend Madonna's follow-up movie "Bloodhounds Of Broadway" so see my review!.

Flashback to the 80's with Madonna!5
I have always loved this film since I first saw it back in the 80's and it's long overdue on DVD! The transfer is a good one and Madonna's songs in the movie have never sounded better.
The disc has no extras though, not even the music video for the title track. But it's a funny film and for any Madonna fan it's a great way to spend 90 minutes.

Fast action-packed hilarious classic comedy from the 80s!5

One of just two of Madonna's films worthy of any critical acclaim - the other being 'Desperately Seeking Susan' of course, and was long overdue when released on DVD.

It's hard to believe now that this movie was made twenty years ago! I challenge anyone to watch this, and not feel great afterwards! Absolutely hilarious, fast-paced and full of action! Like the great music Madonna was making at the time, she should have stuck to this genre in movie-making; it suited her talents far better than the turn to which her acting career later took. I suspect both this film and the aforementioned did not go down as well as her later work, due to the fact they were not full of sex and nudity.

Another great title for this movie could have been 'Operation Prisoner Shuttle' - an amusing phrase coined in the film; everything in this chaotic and wacky film could be summed up in those three little words!

Watch this great classic from the eighties - enjoy it and feel great! This movie would lift anyone out of deep depression, and should be supplied on prescription!

Five stars - and no doubt about it!!
