Customer Reviews
not too bad hey
2005 had some great pay per views and the odd one that was poor,in fact the first one of the year was one of the worst in living memory,so how did the final one of the year go in comparison, well it wasnt bad but it wasnt off the radar either, there was a feeling that some of the matches came without hype and this was justified in my opinion.
The opening match pitted matt hardy against jbl in a match where hardy looked so out of his depth that im surprised he didnt drown, jbl went through the motions against a rival who is capable of so much more, not a great opener but watchable enough.
A tag team match was up next, the mexicools went up against MNM,this was a great wee match, could have gone either way, high in old school, high risk moves, this wasnt as bad as i feared, pleasing.
Next up was match 4 in a best of series tournament for the for the vacant united states championship, this was a twenty minute match that promised plenty and delivered, these two men knew each others styles well and adapted and shifted gears at every available moment and created a fine match.
Next up was a handicap match, lashley went up against william regal and paul burchill,he wasnt with his kayfabe sister at this point readers, this was a terrible match that barely got off the ground before we had a winner, not good.
Next up was a match for the cruiserweight championship, the champ juventud went up against kid kash, the crowd didnt give two hoots for this match and neither did i to be honest, there were some good moves but was dull as a contest, not one to watch over and over.
The raw tag team champions kane and big show went up against the smackdown tag champions rey mysterio and batista who was also the world champ next, this match had hype but stuttered over the finishing line in the end, wasnt great at all and rey proved to be a bit of a weak link in a match that wasnt that good.
The main event was next and was contested in a hell in a cell enviroment, this match was between randy orton and the undertaker who fought for a good part of the year, this match was intense, brutal, great and eventful to say the least,a fine way to end the event and a decent enough way to end the year.
Armageddon 2005 a low event from Smackdown to finish WWE PPV of 2005
Smackdown were known for their bad PPV'S and this one is bad all other i found that the best part is the Boogeyman putting worms in Nunzio and Vito's mouth the best its funny. Hell in a Cell was alright Randy Orton and Undertaker pull of some good moves but this is not a classic Hell in a Cell at all. The rest of the matches are rather boring the Tim White segment at the Friendly Tap was silly his fake death scene. All those things were Tim faking he wanted to die was wrong and Eddie Guerrero died that year near that time it was like they were making fun of deaths making it a joke. The DVD has 1 extra yes only one friendly tap moments all from APA oh and one with Stone Cold.
