Product Description

The BIG Quiz which builds on the huge success of his famous music show as it seeks to push contestants to the limit. This time the questions could be on anything, with picture, audio and video clips covering subjects from film and sport through to music and Buzz`s own brand of crazy general knowledge. And of course there`ll be plenty of questions about Buzz`s celebrity friends! The host himself did his best to hide his excitement when our interviewer cornered him. He modestly commented: After the success of my groundbreaking new format show Buzz!: The Music Quiz, I knew that SCEE would soon be back knocking at my door. I have of course had other offers but am delighted to stay with my friends at SCEE... of course this is about more than money, it`s about giving full flow to my creative genius! The new series extends the format of Buzz`s first show and cranks up the tension by giving contestants more chances to steal points from each another... so make sure you watch your back in new rounds like `Hitman`, as well as returning favourites like `Pass the Bomb`. Buzz`s new studio also has room for up to eight players, so contestants from Buzz!: The Music Quiz can enjoy the ultimate Quiz show experience!

Rumours have been rife amongst TV industry sources for some time, but today it can be confirmed that Buzz, the enigmatic and debonair host of Buzz: The Music Quiz has signed a new contract with Sony Computer Entertainment Europe (SCEE).

Buzz will be fronting a new game show called Buzz!: The BIG Quiz which builds on the huge success of his famous music show as it seeks to push contestants to the limit. This time the questions could be on anything, with picture, audio and video clips covering subjects from film and sport through to music and Buzz's own brand of crazy general knowledge. Get it with the pad things3
I already had the music quiz, so when this one came out, I got it without the pads. Big mistake! This one lets you plug in TWO sets of pads at once and have up to 8 players at once!!! (unlike the music quiz which you could only use one set).

A real "review"4
We bought the original Buzz before Christmas and as a party game it can't be beaten (well OK, maybe Singstar can have the edge at times...). I quickly went out and got this version hoping for more of the same and to be honest was not disappointed. I bought it with a set of buzzers too because one of the best new features is that you can play with up to 8 people (if you have 2 sets of buzzers).
So what's it like? Well I thought it was pretty good. The format has been polished a little so that it doesn't continually cut back to the contestants, thus speeding the flow of the game up. The 8 player game is OK, but you can't play a full quiz, only selected rounds which is a shame (unless I missed that option!).
The rounds themselves are much more picture and video based which is where the first problem is: some of the pictures are pretty tough to recognise especially those of 'places'. Some of the pictures of celebs seem to have been taken on Oscar night or something, so they often look quite different to what you'd expect.
There are a couple of new rounds in there - ask a friend which requires you to nominate someone to answer the question and then you share the points (plus or minus depending on their answer!). There's also a round where you get two lives each and then when you get a question right, you get to 'shoot' a life from one of the other players.
Based more around general knowledge, the level of the questions is good and the balance seemed good too in fact, the whole game seemed well balanced to me.
In the end though I'm only giving this a 4. Why? Well when put to the test on Saturday night, we played two rounds and then loaded up the music quiz and stuck with that for longer despite the fact that one person always had to sit out. People in the group found that the hard to recognise pictures were frustrating and this ultimately spoiled the whole experience.
In summary though, it's well worth a purchase for 'more of the same but different', and you won't be consigning the old one to the bin if you own it either!

A Quality family game5
Having played the orginal Buzz, I wasn't sure if the new Buzz game would be as good.
How wrong I was to think that. From the clip at the start of the game I knew that this game would be great.
Buzz is still the wize cracking host and the game itself has not lost any fun.
The game has a few new sections like Hitman. If you are first to get a question right you have the fun but cruel chance to shoot someones life away from them (Ha,ha).
The Orignal Buzz levels are still in this version, but now the questions are read to us and some of the questions use pictures and video clips.
If you liked the original Buzz game you want be disapointed. It is a great family game that can be played all the time and won't get boring after a few months
