Manufacturer's Description
Taking the popular Japanese horror theme to a whole new terrifying level, Project Zero 3: The Tormented is a complete interactive Japanese horror experience as the player takes on the role of Rei, a cursed young woman whose overwhelming guilt and tormented dreams lead her into a formidable world where the lines between reality and nightmares are blurred and the only way out is to solve the mystery of the tattoo. What the player will see in Rei's dreams is only the beginning of the nightmare, making Project Zero 3: The Tormented the most terrifying virtual experience to date.

1, 2 and 3 MWAH! Each a little different and always keep you on your toes.
I love project zero 3 almost as much as I love project zero 2 (And that's saying alot). The nail biting switching between dreams and reality, the little changes in the room, such as a tv suddenly turning on or a window been open when it was closed before and the appearence of Miku (from Project 1) and Mayu/Mio's uncle (from project zero 2) add a sort of closure to what happened to the chracters from the last games.
The beginning movie is just amazing and just pulls you in from the start. I guess what really sets this one apart is the fact that Rei (the main character) can actually leave the mansion and return to her apartment. In the previous game the heroen's couldn't leave the area, let alone return home. This means Rei's health will go back up once she returns home, which is handy when ones health runs low and there are no herbel medicine on hand.
At some points one even wonders if Rei is losing her mind from grief (spoiler if I tell you why) since Miku can't seem to see anything.
The final day though is the best with the final boss following you around when ever the screen turns black and white and forcing you to run until you either find a way out the building or progress the story.
Buy, buy, buy this game if you like surival horrors.
OK - major spoiler
I am a huge fan of the project zero series and up to press I have been impressed by all of the games. Project zero 3 was ok but I have no desire whatsoever to play the game again. I found this game long and drawn out. And to top that off it wasn't the slightest bit scary. I would have given this game 3 stars but killing Miku off was just so wrong. Not the best game I've played but not the worse.
Not as good as the 2nd
If you're new to this series, I strongely suggest you to start with the project zero 2, which is much much better than this one.
There is three characters in this game, which you play alternatively, which make you difficult to attach to one of them. The characters are not as likable as the project zero 2 too.
The story is not as intense as the second one. Since this in this one, you go back to your own safe room after each episode, a respite, which break the intense horrifing feeling, insteads of continuous horror like the 2nd one. The story is not as interesting than the 2nd one any way.
A lot of re-use of the backgorunds from the 1st and 2nd games. I wonder if the developers are too lazy to make new backgrounds, or if they think re-using the backgrounds somehow make the game better by offering more connection with the 1st two games.
Also, the most unsatisfortory about this game (and almost all of other games released in UK) is that, despite very little, there are some cut, compared to the japanese version. E.g. the shower scene has been cut shoter compared to the Japanese version. (Who say UK is a liberal country, when one can't even play a game as the director intended.)
