Intelligent Dubstep?
Although this album definitely incorporates elements from the dubstep sound which is increasing in popularity worldwide at the moment, this draws on a richer heritage of influences than the standard 2-step, UK garage, old skool jungle influences cited by many dubstep producers. The tracks here use a wide variety of mainly electronic but sometimes acoustic sounds and textures to great effect. This is mainly head music, although some of the tracks do venture further into dancefloor territory, particularly 'Brood', which featured on Boxcutter's debut 12" for Hotflush. This is an often beautiful, always atmospheric record that comes highly recommended.
