Hit The Lights3
The best word to describe the new release from Hit The Lights is 'Anticipated' to say the least. After hearing the song 'Bodybag' on the net, I must admit that I was completely hooked by their catchy pop sound and almost eerie, dark lyrics. After listening to the CD, I have mixed feelings. There are many things making the cd worth having, but there are also a few things that make this cd, dare I say, generic.

Firstly, the new songs are great. But there's one thing that plagues this cd to the very end, and that is that I can say that there are even new songs as opposed to old ones. Excuse me for being picky about my music, but I absolutely HATE hearing recycled songs. I do not think it would kill Hit The Lights to tap in to their creative mindpower and churn out a few more poppy hits for the fans that have come to expect it. Listening to 6 songs + Until We Get Caught EP just bothers me to the maximum, and kills the whole vibe of this album for me. I loved those songs when they came out two years ago, and they are insulting people by releasing the exact same song on a new record 2 years later.

Secondly, you don't write songs about internet feuds. It might be a damn good song, but still. The fact that you wrote it over an absolutepunk review makes it a complete joke. It's hard to even listen to it without thinking about the topic in which it was written. All in all there might be a few things within the cd that I don't agree with, but I was presently surprised by the new tracks and it deserves a listen.

All in all this record turned out to be a pleasant listen. Although they did a few things I don't really agree with or care for in this album, it's an excellent summer soundtrack.
