Amazon.co.uk Review
Whatever you do, don’t give up on Prison Break. Depending on who you talk to, it either races out of the traps at speed, or is a dish that takes some while to warm up. While this reviewer verges towards the latter, by the time the show gets it first few episodes under its belt, it’s perfectly clear that this is one hell of a ride.

It’s built on a very simple concept. Michael Scofield gets himself arrested and thrown into Fox River prison. It’s a deliberate ploy, for not only was he involved in the prison’s structural design, but his brother also happens to be on death row, for a crime that he believes he didn’t commit. In short, the idea is to break in so that he can break them both out.

From this simple premise, Prison Break then builds. With game nods of the hat to the staple prison movie clichés you’d expect, it nonetheless pulls a few trump cards. Firstly, it takes time to built up interesting characters. Next, it wisely keeps a parallel storyline running outside the prison walls. And thirdly, it’s casting is quite superb.

Its final ace is the intricately plotted escape plan itself, and the numerous twists and turns along the way. This initial boxset gets you just past the halfway point of the first season, and at times it’s likely to leave you flat-out breathless. At worst, you’re likely to be relentlessly entertained, and pulling out that credit card to order the concluding boxset. For Prison Break is that rare thing--a show that accepts it’s riddled with clichés, but is clever enough to work that to its advantage. Gripping viewing.--Simon Brew

Synopsis
Lincoln Burrows (Dominic Purcell) is an inmate on death-row for the killing of the brother of the Vice President of the United States, a murder he vows he did not commit but only his brother Michael Scofield (Wentworth Miller) believes him. Michael takes the extreme action of getting himself arrested. With the blueprints of the jail disguised in a tattoo that encompasses his body, Michael attempts to create a support network in prison that will allow his brother and himself to escape. Fellow prisoners looking to escape and willing to help Michael and his brother include ex mob boss Abruzzi, C-Note, Sucre and T-Bag. Despite having bonded with prison governor Pope (Stacey Keach), Michael has attracted the suspicions of the menacing Captain Bellick (Wade Williams). Meanwhile, on the outside the brothers' childhood friend and lawyer Veronica Donovan (Robin Tunney) works to uncover the conspiracy that put Lincoln in jail.

Awesome, but a money spinning rip off!!!!5
This is one of the best things I've seen on TV for years, and is another US masterpiece. If you love US dramas like the Shield and Oz, then this is a 'must watch' for you! HOWEVER I would not buy this boxset. Why buy only 13 episodes of a 22 part series? If you watched this you would be tearing you hair out because you would want to see the other 9! Therefore if you weren't as clever/or tight as me and haven't been recording the series I would wait for the whole series to come out!

WATCH IT5
I started watching this series as it looked quite good when i saw clips on the tv about it. IT IS BRILLANT. This drama focuses on a prison designer who gets himself thrown into one of his own prisons to help his falsely accused brother escape death row. While in the prison he meats bad guys, good guys and guys your not really sure are good guys or are bad guys and this is what makes it exciting. Every epoisode has twists and turns which you do not exspect and when you do think you know what is going to happen you find out your wrong at the end and then start to fingure it all together in your mind. You need to watch the very first epoisode and all episodes after to keep up with it and to understand what is happening. This is because one minute a person who is trying to help them in the prison or who arent turns around and does the complete opposite in the next episode. I am even thinking about buying this set because it is that good. The characters are realistic and have great stories behind each one. Wentworth is also GORGEOUS! watch it and find out.

AN ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL MASTERPIECE!!5
Oh My! I have been waiting and searching high and low for this DVD!! When Lincoln Burrows gets put in prison with the death penalty Michael Scofield manages to get himself locked up alongside him, intent on breaking free with his brother. he has a keen eye for detail, and has tattooed his body with the blueprints for the Fox River State Penetentiary. However, not everything goes to plan ...there are certain things that keep on popping up to slow the plan down. Wentworth Miller delivers a stella performance in this epic drama, it has me glued to my seat as I await the two last episodes. It has an intense plot and will definately have you begging for the next season, this one right here is a KEEPER!
