Ideal for Snorkelling
I bought this accessory for my Sony DSC-W50 for my recent holiday to Grenada and I must say that I'm very impressed with the pictures produced.

Before I say anything about the underwater case I just want to say how good this range of sony cameras are and how well they are suited to taking under water pictures. The small size, great lense, intuitive menu system, long battery life and excellent 'automatic' setting all add to the ease of use under water.

Now onto the case it's self. Out of the box the case resembles something you would give a 3 year old to play with. Don't be fooled by these toy-like aesthetics though. The large, well-spaced buttons and large overall dimensions are a must for wet crinkled fingers. The menu system is easily navigated under water so that you can change from taking pictures to shooting 'movies'.

The construction of the case must also commended. The design of the hinge, the seal of the rubber gasket and the sturdiness of the locking mechanism all give peace and mind when taking you beloved digital camera into the depths of the sea. A point to note though is that this that you can only use it down to 3 metres. This makes it suitable for snorkelling. Picture quality largely depends on camera settings, water clarity and light conditions under water. Great for Tropical waters. Tip: The colours that you experienced under water can be put back into your photo's on your computer by using a Photo editing software and using 'auto levels' feature.

One thing that I can say on a negative note is how difficult it is to view the LCD whilst the case is on and under water. This I believe is due to several factors; firstly the thick plastic window on the case sits away from the screen creating a void; secondly due to bright weather conditions and thirdly the LCD screen brightness not being great enough to cut through the water. Despite these reasons it does not detract from taking great pictures and has the bonus of seeing the under water world through your own eyes rather than through an LCD screen.

In conclusion, this is a fabulous accessory if you are interested in getting some good snaps whilst snorkelling and can be done so with confidence in mind that your camera is water-tight.

It fits all the camera's it is supposed to. It not advertised anywhere as fitting the W70, W100 or W200.

LONG BATTERY LIFE, I PAID £79 FOR MY 1GB CARD WITH THE CAMERA FROM ARGOS, YOU CAN BUY CAMERA FOR £90+ ON AMAZON AND A 2GB CARD FOR UNDER £12, I WOULD RECOMEND IT TO ANYONE SIMPLE TO USE FIRST CLASS CAMERA WHY PAY MORE??
