Editorial Reviews

From the Label
The nation voted for him in their millions to crown him winner of The X Factor 2005 and his record-breaking debut single "That's My Goal" stormed to the top of the charts giving him the Christmas No.1. This 13-track album, which includes his second single "No Promises"sees Shayne working with some of the biggest producers in the music industry, including Steve Mac, Jorgen Elofsson, Quiz/Larossi, Per & David and Cutfather & Joe.

Since his crowning moment last December, in less than three months, Shayne Ward has achieved unprecedented success. He entered the Guinness World Record book for the most downloaded track in one day, claimed the Christmas No.1, selling over a million records, received a Brit Award nomination, headlined the X Factor UK tour playing to over 180,000 people and completed his debut album.

As superstar status beckons and with his long-term future assured, Shayne mania is sweeping the nation, and it's contagious.

Customer Reviews

shayne ward debut album5
i am delighted to say that, unlike other albums, there is not one track that i dislike on this debut album.
each song has clear emotions, beautifully produced and great to sing along to.
you can hear every word, which in today's pop culture is a refreshing change. a must for everyones collection, BUY IT NOW!!
i simply can't wait to purchase album number 2. nice one shayne!!

Fine debut, but lacking that "X factor"3
So, here it is. The debut from last years brightest new 'reality' star.

That's My Goal & No Promises you've heard already I assume. Following the step up that was No Promises, I thought the album would be our own UK "Justin" - after all, we heard so much that this is what Shayne wanted with his career.
Unfortunately, & probably thanks to Louis' approach, we have on our hands another Westlife album.

There are a few nice songs featured, for example I Cry & What About Me. Plus the very "unchained-melody" Stand By Me which is very heavy on the strings, and oldschool. But generally, that's what the album is - nice.

There's nothing brave about this album, and even the token (& only) up-tempo track "Next To Me" isn't as up-tempo as it should have been.

Saving grace is the great idea of adding the amazing version of Over The Rainbow from the Live final, such a great version.

No denying that Shayne was the deserving winner on the night, and they have played it safe on this album. It would have been better to mix the styles up and give Shanye a taste of what he might want to do with, what I hope will be, a fantastic 2nd album.

THE NEW SHAYNE WARD3
I was disappointed by the album I was waiting for. He has a brilliant voice though. He was terrific on the show and needs to add more variety that his is capable of, maybe that's on the way. Have to be honest I would of just got the expensive single if I had known what it was like.
