Good, simple design
I bought the riser for a 17 in laptop, and it works well. The rubber base is very stable and the higher settings match the top of the screen with my eyeline ( I'm 6ft 3in ). The angle allows easier access to the laptop's keyboard as well, and you can clip the mouse/keyboard cables through the back of the stand. Works better for me than a previous iCurve.

3M LX550 - good but not for short people
The 3M LX550 is height adjustable, but we found the lowest height setting to be distinctly on the high side. Health and Safety guidelines specify that your eyes should be roughly level with the top of the screen. Using two different average laptops on this stand, the lowest height setting available was 'correct' for someone of 1.8m or 5 foot 11 inches (as judged by an IT Systems Manager). The purchaser was 5 foot 1 inch, alas.

Summary: A nicely made piece of equipment, go for it if you're 5 foot 11 inches or taller,even then I'd prefer a shade lower setting.

laptop stand
Absolutly useless for my brand new 17" new Sony laptop valued at £900. I set up the Laptop riser for the first time and placed the laptop on it. After a short while with nobody near it including myself the laptop toppled off and crashed to the ground. The device was not man enough for the job. Have given it away indisgust
