Customer Reviews
Pure Gold
I am gutted cos I have lost one of the CDs in this amazing double album. Even with one CD is is TOPS. My favorites are Lemar singing the Darkness Track, and James Blunt singing Lemar..... as I said Pure Gold!
Will you like this album?
This album has many different artists, playing many different genres with a lot of crossover with the covers. I have found that people who like this album will not like all of it. But do not let this put you off. I like 28 out of the 40 songs and for the price it is definately worth it. If your tastes in music are very mainstream(pop, hip hop RnB, songs that do very well in singles charts) you will like most of this album. Only a few of the songs like maybe Queen of the stone ages may not suit your tastes. If your music is more away from the mainstream in the way of foo fighters, green day, blink 182 and coldplay(songs that do well in the album charts but not so well in the singles charts), you will also like most of this album, particularly from artists you like such as the foo fighters. You may be surprised to enjoy songs you don't like by artists you don't like, such Jamelia's verson of the linkin park's Numb. But you probably won't enjoy, 50 cent in da club and outkast. This is the category i am in. Then there is the final category. If your the type of person who when is asked what he is listening the the person says who the hell are they, proceed with caution, i'd recommend listening to a few songs on you tube before buying. The best thing overall about this album is hearing artists sing the most mainstream of songs and making them much better in the case of boy kill boy - maneater. Overall this album is a great testament to the brilliance of live music and one that will surprise you change your opinion of some artists.
Wonderful compilation
This album is sheer listening pleasure from beginning to end and it makes me proud of the institution that is Radio One! There are some brilliant covers, the most outstanding being Embrace's version of 'How Come' which has been transformed into the most beautiful, heart-rending song and you realise just how good D12's lyrics are. There are also some funny covers, we really like the Artic Monkeys cover of Love Machine. It's all brilliant, and put together so very well. Great value for money too. You won't regret buying it.
