If you enjoy tearing your hair out and banging your head against the wall... you'll love it!2
Ok, so when I first got this game I was impressed. The amount of teams you could play as was good and meant if I wanted I could play as a domestic team in the West Indies or Australia or anywhere like that which set it aside from 'International Cricket Captain' as you can only play as county sides there.

Starting up the game all was ok. I looked around and it was a bit confusing but you get used to it. If you are as a national side then you have a pool of your players with ratings going from 'poor' to 'world class' which is helpful as particularly with ICC it's pot luck with how good your player will be, here you have a guideline.

The first annoyance I had was that you have to keep clicking continue till you get to your first match. Particularly when not in the cricket season it can get tedious sat there clicking for 4 months waiting for a match, and that annoyed me for starters. Secondly when in charge of a county player the game can decide you don't have enough players after you have spent the time selecting the players and squad size you want for the season and it will suddenly throw you some more players. I was given Robert Key from Kent when I was playing as sussex, not a bad player, but I didn't want him and yet I had him. The game doing stuff like that was silly.

Going onto a match screen I had most of my problems. I don't have a problem at all with the 2D lay out. Any fan of Football manager/Champ manager will know it isn't a problem, my problem was that no matter which test side you were (Ranging from Bangladesh to Aus) you could be bolwed out for less than a hundred. This is the hair tearing situation. There was nothing that could be done to stop your players getting dismissed. On ICC if you are struggling you can always lower the aggression down and that helps a lot, here, doing that means you just get out only without scoring runs in the first place. There were many moments where I stood in confusion as Brian Lara got dismissed for a duck and Gayle, Sarwan and Chanderpaul all scored below double figures as well. Not the strongest nation in the world, but still they have players rated as World Class and great and yet here they were doing nothing and getting dismissed for low scores.
There seems to be no game function there to stop the slide and allow you not to lose all your wickets in the first session of play.

All in all it's not a bad game, there are many aspects I find enjoyable... but it's one of the most irritating experiences of a game I've ever had.

good, but there is better3
This game has an addictive nature and nice features, but International Cricket Captain 2006 is a more rounded game, with a 3D match engine and classic series'. Either game is an excellent addition to a collection, but ICC 2006 is marginally better

Awesome (mostly)4
this is a really cool game with all of the ball to ball coverage and attention to detail. you can change tactics after every ball, tell the bolwers where to bowl, and tell the feilders where to feild. the only bad thing is the 2D display. in cricket captain 2006 there is a 3D display which i personally think is better but its you choice. still a very good game especially because its endorsed by tressy. enjoy
