Don't buy without a decent extended warranty
Bought the Samsung PS42S5HX 2 years ago (previous model) and have just been quoted from Samsung authorised repair centre (£60 non refundable quote) for a repair at £1139 (parts £899 + labour)

Considering that the TV now costs around £650 to buy new this is hardly an option.
In my opinion I wouldn't buy a Samsung plasma TV unless you get a decent warranty.

Samsung 42" Plasma trauma

As Mr Dillon, i also bought this TV 2 years ago and its gone seriously wrong. Fortunately i paid for the extended warranty. Jsut as well, as it was written off (beyond economical repair) and i chose a new tv, not Samsung i hasten to add

i bought this tv 2 years a go and i never had any problem , the picture and the sound is excellent. i have all so a sony TV in my bed room but the picture on my samsung plazma is much better then the sony bravo .
