Product Description

Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror lets you reprise the role of super spy Gabe Logan. Once again, it`s up to you to save the world using an array of slick spy gadgets and weapons.

Gabe Logan is a highly-trained Precision Strike Operative, commanding a black box U.S. Agency that, legally, doesn`t exist. Using Precision Strike Tactics, advanced vision technology, and the latest in high-tech weaponry, Logan`s specialty is covert operations requiring deadly force. Logan and his team perform "surgical strikes": missions too sensitive for a military response, too dangerous for civilian intelligence forces. Logan`s job is to infiltrate, recon and execute decisively. Once inserted, Logan is his own authority.

  • Infiltrate - Utilize deadly force and the most advanced weaponry and high-tech equipment imaginable.
  • Recon - Take down hostiles who feature awareness, behaviors and communications based on player actions.
  • Execute - Precision aiming, melee attacks and target enhancements provide plausible deniability to any action.
  • Online - Precision strike teams (2 person teams) match up against each other in a battle for competing objectives.

Editorial Reviews

Amazon.co.uk Review

In a nutshell:
After two disappointing sequels on the home consoles suddenly it’s down to the PSP to save Syphon Filter, as hero Gabe Logan saves the world from terrorists in this superior portable action game.

The lowdown:
With only one analogue stick making camera control a real problem the PSP has struggled when it comes to decent third person action games. This though is easily the best yet with superb graphics and presentation and tons of voiceovers for a great cinematic feel. Just like the earlier games this is a more action orientated spin on Metal Gear Solid as you use a wide range of gadgetry from thermal imagers to motion sensing grenades. Combat works great too, especially the way you can aim from behind cover and quickly jump out, guns blazing. A solid lock-on control system also helps to keep frustration at a minimum in this real return to form for the series.

Most exciting moment:
On top of the lengthy single player campaign the game also has an eight player online mode, including full voice chat. This lets you play the game as anything from a deathmatch style free-for-all to an objective based co-operative version of the story mode.

Since you ask:
Although there’s still no word of whether a new Syphon Filter game will appear on the PlayStation 3 a PSP sequel is strongly hinted at in the final cut scene of Dark Mirror.

The bottom line:
The best action game on the PSP and the best Syphon Filter for years.

THIS GAME IS AWESOME5
I got his game while in America last week, and it has failed to disappoint. It has kept me entertained just by the story mode, i havent even got onto the online mode! Trust me, its an absolute gem.

The best game I have played on PSP..... by a long way5
This game is truely a masterpiece. There are a number of modes of play, which are all well designed and fun to play.

First mode of play, the story mode is challenging, story is clearly defined and the cut scene are good. Variety in game play seems good.

Second mode, you can go back and play the missions you have completed, but you can use additional weapons that you have unlocked. This makes the whole mission totally different, for example turning a stealth mission into a blood bath.

Third mode is the online multiplay option. You need a wireless broadband connection to play this. The gameplay is as good as in game stuff.

The controls are very well balanced, complicated enough to not make the game too easy or prone to button bashing. But not too hard to master and therefore satisfying when you deliver the killer blow.

All in all an amazing game.

See- they can do it! The first great game for Sony PSP5

Wow! This is what Splinter Cell PSP should have been. Gadgets, guns, night vision, tactical elements, secrets and excellent replay value. I can't believe it's taken this long to get out a decent game - and it's not a lazy port either. There is an adult theme (swearing, blood, murder) so not for the young 'uns. Hopefully this will herald a new era in developing for the PSP platform as this is the benchmark.

The only bad thing about it is that it will end.
