Manufacturer's Description:
Vice City, 1984. Opportunity abounds in a city emerging from the swamps, its growth fueled by the violent power struggle in a lucrative drugs trade. Construction is everywhere as a shining metropolis rises from foundations of crime and betrayal. As a soldier, Vic Vance has always protected his dysfunctional family, his country, himself. Impressive graphic overhaul:
Vice City Stories is a monumental improvement upon the previous Grand Theft Auto title on the PlayStation Portable. For one, the draw distance has nearly doubled so that buildings and features can be seen across town. Character models and cars are as detailed as if they were on the PlayStation 2 and include all of the shine and transparency that looked so great in other Grand Theft Auto titles. Players can even choose the clothing that Vic will wear in Vice City. Overall, Rockstar has substantially increased all visual elements so that you don't need to make any graphical sacrifices when taking Grand Theft Auto on the road.
Even the city appears as never before- people on the street will notice you and recognize you for the actions you've taken on previous missions. Some even comment about actions you've taken and give you an idea about how the public feels about your notoriety.
Expanded gameplay:
New characters never before seen in Vice City add new twists to the story gamers were introduced to in the PlayStation 2 Vice City title. With a playtime of over 15 hours for the storyline alone, there is certainly plenty to see and hear in and around the city. Choose from various objectives to complete such as doing stunts for a chocolate commercial, chasing a known drug dealer to swipe his loot, and patrolling your neighborhood for specific thugs. Knock down objectives and get swept up in the plot or sit back and explore the big city- the choice is yours!
The hallmark style of "sandbox" gameplay is ever present and players can (forcefully) take control of nearly any vehicle they see and roam the streets in search of interesting characters and opportunities. In addition to cars, busses, bikes, and trucks, you can now cruise the waterways of Vice City in a large number of water craft! Jet-skis, motorboats, and even fishing vessels are there for the taking whether you're tracking the bad guy or just killing time. If you need even more mobility, consider one of the many arial options such as helicopters- helpful for taking out enemies from afar.

Customer Reviews
Should be Great but Very Dissapointing!!
I bought this game for my PSP, the idea of the game is fantastic and I was really excited about playing it, however after spending 2 whole days repeating failed mission after failed mission I got to about Mission 11 or 12 and gave up on the game and will put it up for sale.
The reasons? Well the graphics, sound etc are 5 stars, the game is let down badly in three areas which are interlinked, the controls on the PSP make it VERY difficult to control your player especially shoot with any accuracy, add to this that a lot of the missions are VERY VERY hard and you can't save the game regularly so you must keep starting at the beginning of the mission (it's a long slow process!)and the game becomes a chore, I got so angry and frustrated with it I nearly bust a blood vessel and decided to chuck the game for the sake of my health!! What a waste of 2 days of my life!
I'm no gaming biff, been playing games all my life but the PSP is not suited to this sort of game especially one made sooooo hard. Unless you are a veteran GTA player, do not bother wasting your money on this, if you have a full size console or PC, buy it in these formats instead.
STUNNING for something so small!
Well, what can i say! rockstar have done it again, The simerlaries been the old vice city and this are tingleing!Thats start with the graphics: 4/5: brillant for a miget like a psp! but be warned things can pop up unrelisticly at speed causing a bit of damege to your motor!
Game play
4/5:There are so much things to do like missons Killing people and exporering it will easy keep you entertained. but the missions are not very good when you lose you feel like kicking your psp! also theres a thing about buieses its annoying because you have to go to your buiesses to proteck them its anoying! expecaily when you are the way to a misson!
FUN
5/5:Its never boring I like killing people and nickig their cars! also the missons are fun (if you dont lose them)
OVERALL:THE BEST YOU CAN GET FROM YOUR PSP, BUY IT NOW!!
You play a pussy man called victor vance who was lances brother in vice city(the first one) so its a before time of the first vice city a very good game
Don't dither, buy this game
I wasn't convinced I'd like this game but was willing to give it a go after reading so many positive reviews. I have got to say that I have just finished with the storyline mode and I still have got loads to do. I feel that the storyline is part of the mainattraction but there are so many cool levels to play as an aside, such as bulding your crime empire etc.
My advice is simply if you want a game that combines driving and shooting levels convicingly then this is a must. You can pick this game up so just go for it. One of the things I liked most about this was the way in which you can use different methods of transport to complete levels, so if you keep getting hit in drive-bys, you go by helicopter instead.
