Customer Reviews
Sublime
This is it; I LOVED Less Than Jake's recent live album and was convinced it was the best I'd heard. I was wrong. This album is simply amazing. The quality of the recording is perfect; the on -stage banter is, at times, laugh-out-loud funny. Every song is very tight and RBF sound like their genuinely having a fantastic time on stage.
Highlight tracks on this album are Talkin' bout a Revolution (a cover of Tracy Chapman's 1988 hit), Don't Start A Band and SuburbanRhythm (a 9 minute epic where the band take the original (and brilliant) track and try to impress the crowd by playing it in about 8 completely different genres; see the Country music version!) However this isn't to say there is a bad track on the title. Every song is great!
All in all this is genuinely an amazing album. If you're a fan of the Fish - buy it, if you're a fan of live shows - buy it, if you like your ska fast, smooth and bouncy - buy this album. Check it out; with the live DVD this is a bargain. I virtually guarantee you will like this album and if you don't then stop listening to Emo! If you're looking at this review you must be a little bit interested...go on! Go on! You know you want it!
Fantastic collection
This CD and DVD collection is a must-own! It catches Reel Big Fish at their very best - tight playing, hilarious on-stage banter, and a great set. Highlights include the extended version of "SR", new song "So Much For Rock and Roll", and of course, "She Has A Girlfriend Now". There's also contributions from Ali from Zebrahead and Rachel Minton from Zolof the Rock and Roll Destroyer.
The DVD is really nicely shot and includes some funny little extras, including "rehearsing for the show". The sound and visual quality of the DVD far surpasses the House of Blues DVD.
If you're just getting into Reel Big Fish, this is the perfect place to start. It gives a great selection of their back catalogue. If you've been a fan for years, then you'll love this too. Check it out!
Superb
Great songs, talented musicians, excellent sound quality and humourous banter. The best live album I own.
