Manufacturer's Description
The beloved armoured Arthur, with his renowned boxers in tow, charges onto the PSP in an exciting side-scrolling action adventure game. Created by members of the original Ghost 'n Goblins team, the long awaited fourth instalment to the favoured franchise sees the triumphant return of valiant knight, Sir Arthur, as he must save the princess from the clutches of evil.

In Ultimate Ghosts 'n Goblins, Arthur's heroic battle with the underworld was finally over and the entrance to the realm was sealed. So he thought. Time passes and unknowing to mankind, the dark lord has awaken from his slumber and kidnaps the princess in an effort to conquer the human world. Arthur must set off for the evil forest, the gateway to the underworld, to save the princess from imminent doom and keep the devil as well as his minions at bay. The excitement and intensity of the forerunner continues as our armoured hero takes on this new challenge for the sake of humanity.

With the use of a 3D graphics engine, the Ultimate Ghosts 'n Goblins world comes alive as effects, cut scenes, backgrounds and animations are given more depth and richer detail. Retaining the classic design of the series, several new facets have been created including a broader range of motion and control techniques. Now our hero has the capability to dash, double-jump, shoot up or down in a vertical fashion, grab onto ledges, etc. A new levelling system allows gamers to build up Arthur's skills for more powerful magic abilities and attacks. With the addition of extra lives, death doesn't mean starting from a check point but rematerializing where they left off. Also new to the series is the inclusion of three difficulty modes that will suit every experience level: Novice, Standard and Ultimate. With the introduction of these all-new settings, a wide range of players can now fully enjoy Arthur's daring and unique world.

No longer just a linear experience, Ultimate Ghosts 'n Goblins has plenty of branching sub-missions that will encourage players to explore their surroundings for a more open-ended experience. Gamers can save their progress along the way and revisit cleared stages at anytime to expose unexplored paths, concealed items or weapons to help conquer the challenges that lie ahead.

Very nice remake4
I've always liked the original ghosts and goblins a lot, and despite this one is different from the original one, it is still a nice game. Lots of fun, but also pretty hard to master, just like its predecessor...

Good fun if you can put up with the sometimes insane difficulty ! 4
Great classic gameplay returns ( still on a 2d plane but with polygon graphics ) ... but still insanely hard ....

I was looking forward to this game when I heard it was heading to PSP.
Unfortunately , I must forgotten , how insanely difficult this series was !

They have toned it down a bit for nowadays , but still .... it's still frustratingly hard !

Anyway gameplay is still as good as ever ! It's even enhanced with a new equip magic system !
Although it's hard to say how fun this game is , since it's just so easy to die , every minute or so .... hehe ...

Maybe only just the most hardened gamers will endure it's tediously relentless hordes ...... this game is just so unforgiving , you wonder when these kind of games were in the arcades , if people really could beat the game on one credit .... hehe ....

It could of done with more levels too ... I mean .... it seems a bit short to me , even with all the hidden extras .....

So yeah despite it's nostalgic reputation , I can't really give this game too high a rating if I was to be honest ....
The game's just too ungodly difficult at times to be enjoyed by just anyone ..... most casual gamers would turn the game off in frustration in no time ... but most hardcore veteran gamers will love it to bits !

Don't get me wrong this is a fun game if you're willing to put up with it's high standards of frustrating difficulty !
I just wish it was a little longer, that's all ......

Good old fashioned platform game5
This is computer gaming as I remember it (yes I'm old). It's a good old fashioned platform game with lots of bad guys and levels to work out plus you get to collect different armour and weapons. Excellent graphics and excellent game play. I played on the easiest level and thought I'd finished when I got to the end of the last level but it then says you need 20 magic rings to progress and I only have 3!!! Going back and trying to find them is proving a tad more difficult.

This is very much a gameboy style game and great fun for all ages.
