DO NOT BUY!
The tony hawks games have all been real masterpieces... Except this one. This one is too focused on the realism and it loses touch with the skating. The numerous impossible missions that have been added only add to the frustration that this game produces.

Definitely one of the worst Tony Hawks Games to date. Stick to American wasteland.

Buy SKATE instead!
I got this when it first came out, and enjoyed it for a few months. All the usual THPS features were there, along with the new "nail the trick feature," giving you slow-mo control of the characters' feet. As with most THPS games though, the challenges get repetitive and once you get the hang of it you can complete the game fairly easily.

After getting SKATE a few months ago I have lost all interest in Project 8, finding it clunky and, to be honest, a bit boring. The level of detail and control is nowhere near SKATE and you don't get nearly as much of a sense of achievement out of the whole thing.

THPS9 better take the series to a whole new level otherwise it's going to die a slow, undignified death.

Great game, Great soundtrack but very tricky!
Great game lots to explore and do, some of the missions are wicked! but are very tricky to get the sic! skill and can be off-putting to new comers to Tony Hawks, even I've found it frustrating at times due to the difficulty and I've played the other games, which is what lets it down but at the same time it feels very rewarding when you've completed the goal. It becomes quite addictive.

Soundtrack is awesome with some great punkrock and hiphop style anthems.
If your new to this series of games, rent it first.
