Customer Reviews

Just fantastic nostalgia5
This is just awesome stuff. I'm 37, and remember this stuff from when I was a kid, but was too young to buy records. My musical taste went from electro, to hip-hop, early house, soul, techno, trance and hard house (and the very full-on club scene - brain still recovering...) through to more mainstream pop these days. I've got into a massive 70s nostalgia trip these days, and through Guilty Pleasures have bought stuff by John Miles, Andrew Gold, Paul Carrack, Carly Simon, 10CC etc lately. What I'm trying to say is, don't be a snob 'cos you can't keep a good tune down. Oh Lori? Get It Right Next Time? Silver Lady? TUNES! Believe.

I love these!!!5
As other reviewers have observed,if you are of a certain age, these tunes will take you back which is cool in itself. For my money,Sean Rowley's compilation skills couldn't be bettered. I mailed him after GP1 came out and suggested Starbuck & Starland Vocal Band and lo!! there they were on Vol 2 which may just have been coincidence but either way, its all good (as the young people say).I put aside my other CDs sometimes and play these to lift me out of a stinking mood or just to take a trip down memory lane to hot summers (well that's how it works in my mind :)) and when Radio 1 was actually listenable.
There are lots of things here that I thought I would never hear again and a few suprises too.Fantastic.

this is the collection to own5
If like me you were a teenager during the 70's, lived through the strikes and short work weeks, then this is the collection for you,

It doesnt have all the mega hits from bands like slade and gary glitter or mud or sweet etc, but what it does have, are all the other hits that made up the charts .

From the time when music meant a melody and lyrics you could sing a long with, this collection contains one toe tapping sing a long tune after another, not a bad one on the entire collection.

I originally bought this to get a few rarer tracks Like "Pinball" by Brian Protheroe, and "Your Moving Out" by Carol Bayer Sager, which you very rarely find on compilations, but the entire compilation is great. As I said no bad track here.

So if you have a multi play CD player, then stick on all 3 discs, turn it up and relax and enjoy these great tunes.
