Editorial Reviews

CD Description
Based on the runaway success of his first single, "Run It!"it was clear that 16-year-old Chris Brown was onto something. The song, which rides a pulsing hip-hop beat with Brown'ssmoothly styled R&B vocals coming in over the top, shot straight to the top of the charts, virtually guaranteeing an ecstatic reception for his full-length self-titled debut. Brown lights upon a clever formula here by combining edgy trackswith a sultry urban-contemporary delivery, and bringing to that mixture the fresh-faced innocence of teen pop acts. (Inthe photo spread inside the CD's booklet, Brown is dressed in what looks like a Boy Scout uniform.) Like Usher, whom heresembles in some respects, Brown's music is likely to make15-year-old girls swoon, yet there is a vitality here (thanks in part to high-end production by Scott Storch, the Underdogs, and others) and a musical sophistication that promiseseven better things to come from this young upstart.

Customer Reviews

This is AWESOME!!5
Okay, while looking at reviews of this album, the older version, and how much everyone loved it, I took their advice and got it for myself, and I wasn't disappointed at all, this album is totally great and the bonus tracks "So Glad" and "Seen The Light" are both good too, "So Glad has the beat but is also the shortest track apart from the intro.

There wasn't one song I didn't like on this album, it is one of the greatest debut albums I have ever heard, and he does have his own uniqueness in his voice. My favourite songs are Run It Remix and Original, Yo (Excuse me miss), Young Love, Ya Man Ain't Me, Winner, Is This Love?, Just Fine, Say Goodbye and So Glad. So most of the album.

So I stand by them and say that you SHOULD BUY THIS ALBUM

Trust me..you won't be disappointed

boring!2
When i bought this album i was expecting a fresh rnb/hiphop sound from hearing the first single 'Run it' ,but to be quite honest its anything from that!i'd say there's only 2 decent songs on the whole album which are 'Run it' and the next single to be realeased 'Yo (excuse me miss)'.If you are expecting the album to be as good as his two released singles up to now like me, you will be disapointed so don't buy this!

Good debut album, not as good as his second album4
Like i said in the title 4 my review, it is a good debut album, but his second is better.Anyway let's get into the tracks
