Editorial Reviews
CD Description
'Revelations' is the third studio album by Audioslave. Guitarist Tom Morello described the sound as "Earth Wind & Fire meets Led Zeppelin" and "a big hard rock record with a funkybottom". The album experiments with songs that are funky, soulful and anthemic, and it all adds up to a powerhouse rockrecord. The band recorded 'Revelations' at Henson Studios in Los Angeles with producer Brendan O'Brien.
Customer Reviews
Revelations
This is another great album from Audioslave. It is fairly similar to their second album, IE it has some great songs and their unique, excellent style but slightly lacking the power of the first album. Saying that, the songs here are great (and the debut was SO good as a bench mark) that this album easily stands up to repeated listening and is a brilliant album in it's own right. If you're already a fan you can't go wrong and if you're new to Audioslave you'll be getting a top album to start your love affair with this band.
brilliant
The second Audioslave album had less impact than the first and took a few listenings to appreciate in full. This one is an instant hit like their first album, so a brilliant return to top excellence. Amazingly enough, this seems like it was recorded in the same session as the first cd. I don't know, maybe too much was expected from the second album, maybe not as much from this one, but this is an album that unexpectedly took me in on first hearing. And now it runs in a loop at home and in the car. Absolutely great cd !
Revelations - An Evolution
The third album by Messrs Commerford , Cornell , Morello and Wilk , this album builds on the maturity of 'Out Of Exile' whilst still maintaining the vibrancy and 'in your face' feeling of their first effort .
The songs further highlight the vocal mastery of Chris Cornell , and the technical prowess of Tom Morello on guitar . There are Zep/Sab riffs aplenty , and rousing choruses to stir the most hard hearted of critics .
Thoroughly recommended to all those fans of their previous works , and would also suggest newbies give them a go - you've got nothing to lose !!
