Madden 07 Nearly 5 Stars4
Having Been a fan of the Madden series for years now, every new season is still a must buy. Madden 07 doesn't realy add anything new from the 06 edition apart from the following, the kicking game is greatly improved, you can now run back punt returns/kickoff's and gain some decent yardage, some new moves for the rushing game such as, take control of the lead blocker, double moves for the rusher using the analog stick. Also some nice new animation moves for the rusher's and receivers such as, leaping to make a catch, breaking off their routes early to make the catch. In all a great game worth your £'s, not a great deal added on last years though hence the 4 stars.

Spot On!4
This is the second EA sports American Football game I have, I previously had Madden 2005, although I have played 2006, and I can say that the series is constantly getting better.
The Graphics are crisp and clear, the tackles are so realistic, and the game play is fun, the way EA has presented the game is superb. You might think sports games are all the same, but as always EA has included little mini training camps games, although this isn't much different from the actual game play. When I started playing the games, I didn't have a clue on the rules, but this game has made it so clear, one of my fave things in the game is the video replays, and the fact that you can challenge a call, to me this just seems like a novelty, even if I know that the ball has been cleanly stripped from him and he's fumbled the ball clearly, I will often just challenge to watch the video replay.
As with many sports games, unless you're a die hard football fan, it won't last as long as you like. I finished 2 seasons with ease and then sort of had to force myself to finish the third.
The soundtrack is as good as ever, I thought really it needed more depth though, the songs that are on there, but possibly a few more would of made the game much smoother.

SO in conclusion a great game that I would recommend!

Good Fun, but not perfect3
This is as good as american football gets on the PC, Madden 08 is not hugely different to this version and EA didnot bother porting Madden 09 to the PC. Graphics and actions are good.

The big problems are really in player management, stats and AI. European PC gamers have generally at least dabbled with the soccer management games like FM or CM, this game does not provide any detailed player management. Draft and contracts is it. American sports love stats, for some reason (probably due to console derived limitations) there is minimal team and platyer stats retained and analysis of these historically on a game by game or season by season basis is not supported, a shame. The biggest problem is AI, once you have mastered the controls, learnt your favourite playbook(s) and can read the opposition players, it is no effort to win every game at Madden level.

THis game is great fun, but limited by its console origins, great fun whilst on the learning curve, and a fun way to waste and the odd hour after that.
