Amazon.co.uk Review

There’s always a huge ranges of games from Japan that are never released in the West, but usually there’s a very good reason for that: either they’re not very good or the concepts and references just get lost in translation. One of the few exceptions is Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan. The original name translates as Go! Fight! Cheer Squad and involves a trio of male cheerleaders trying to help ordinary citizens in a variety of bizarre situations. Although many loved the soundtrack it didn’t really translate for a global audience so this is the Westernised remake.

Each of the game’s missions are portrayed on the top screen via some gorgeously drawn comic book sequences involving such calls for help as a shipwrecked Paris Hilton lookalike and a weatherwoman trying to make it sunny. At this point the EBA (now part of a secret government agency) burst onto the bottom screen and you have to help them dance sufficiently well to then encourage their charge to victory.

This is essentially a rhythm action game where you tap sequenced markers in time with the music on the touch screen or occasionally follow a slider along on its path or spin a wheel. You have a steadily decreasing power bar, which is only kept at bay by successful hitting your marks. The way this integrates with the music, the agents dancing and the comic strip is wonderful and assuming you like enough of the songs (everything from Sk8er Boi to YMCA) this is the best music game on any system.

Manufacturer's Description
Unleash the beat and solve the world's problems through the power of music! The public knows of government agencies like the FBI and CIA, but little is known of this super-secret agency. Code-named “Elite Beat Agents,” these men in black are heroes’ heroes and the coolest group of guys this world has ever known. Of course, according to official records, they do not exist. Their leader, an ex-CIA agent named Commander Kahn, scans the world for cries of help. When he finds one, he dispatches the agents, who assist their targets by performing a song and dance. The hypnotic nature of their rocking revives the targets with “Groovy” energy that boosts their willpower and helps them overcome their obstacles.

fun game, but can be annoying!!5
This is a brilliant game for people who like games such as dance evolution, games like that. This game is an english verson of a game called "Ouendan", both games are excatly the same. My favorite song on elite beat agents has got to be Hoobastank - "Without a Fight". This game is very addictive and very fun!!! :D
The main problem with this game is that you have to touch the bottom DS screen alot and it can get damaged if you are not carefull; the best thing to do is to buy screen protectors which cost £1.99 for 12 on amazon but if you get them in the shops, could could be paying £6.99 for 2.

Fun + Tapping + Earth, Wind & Fire = Good Times5
I want to start out by saying in no way is this a substandard version of the Japanese original, Ouendan. The flaws have been ironed and the western flair really adds a lot for me. Yes, this game is absurd, outrageous and extremely wacky, but it's so much fun tapping out the beats to some catchy tunes!

Sure, the game is challenging, but for the newcomers you get a literal helping hand to show you what to do, and there's a gradual progression as songs get increasingly more difficult. That's not a problem though, because you'll rise up through the ranks nice and quickly and eventually you'll be stepping out with some insanely fast rythms!

In short, this game is pure fun and it really does have that addictive quality that makes you keep coming back to better your old high scores and unlock some extra tracks! Let the good times uuh, spin!

Elite is Absolutely Right! 5
I guess you could describe EBA as being the lovcchild of Dance Dance Revolution and the Nintendo DS. But what a child!

This is quite simply a must-buy for any DS user. No game uses its touch screen technology as much as this one, and through its humour, replayability and sheer fun you'll spend hours upon hours trying furiously to keep up with this high-paced rhythm game.

A number of people post videos of their EBA exploits on Youtube, and this is probably the best way to see how the game looks. Don't be put off by how difficult it will look - these are just the guys doing the hardest level at the hardest setting. Sit back and enjoy the witty comic-book scenarios, the cheesy music and the funky dancing of the Elite Beat Agents themselves.

And after that, come back here and order it!
