Dance MANIA: It deserves it's title!
This is definately one of the best dance CD's i have bought for a long time! Both of the CD's have great songs on them, neither of the CD's are bad, the first CD maybe has the edge on the second one but they are both very good. Yes, they both do have a few dodgy mixes which i don't listen to very often but both of the CD's have apsolute classics which everyone will like.
The pick of the bunch are:
Come with me - Shooting star - Poison - Celebrate the summer - The summer is magic
These are only a few of the best, there are many others which i haven't written, it is a sound CD which has all of the current hits in clubs! 10/10
Dance Mania? Yes and No...
Having heard and owned almost every song on this album (with the exception of the embarrassing pop acts *cough* pussycat dolls *cough*) I saw no need to buy this album. The tracklisting on a whole is pretty average and I would hardly say this is dance mania...but it depends what you class as dance music.
First of all if your looking for hard house or trance music...PRESS BACK ON YOUR BROWSER NOW!!!
However, for the people who love the commercial dance scene there is plenty here that will satisfy...at least someone. The title amuses me 'Dance Mania' as to this day i can honestly ask how am I supposed to dance to the likes of Pussycat Dolls. As you may have guessed...I hate them. 'Dont you wish your girlfriend was hot like me?' should be reworded to 'Dont you wish you could get a number one like this?' A horrible song that shouldnt be shown anywhere at anytime.
However, with that aside, the CD starts out with the addictively dancey 'Everytime we touch' which has me up dancing everytime I hear it. Although it doesnt bring anything new to the dance music scene, its still nice to hear a powerful vocalist over a nice ravey backing beat. A lot of the songs on this CD are classics and there wont be much here you havent heard in the charts. Disk 1 is pretty good if you can withstand the factory-made girl bands and pop acts singing their glamourous hearts out for the majority of this CD. The exception to this is Rhianna. All in all a pretty good first CD.
The second CD opens with one of my favourite tunes of the moment...dancing in the dark. A fantastic song by the excellent vocalist Jessy (if anyone remembers she also sang the equally good 'Look at me now') which ironically contrasts with the likes of PCD...the worst group I have heard since those Fast Food idiots singing 'A pizza hut, a pizza hut...' yeah ok right anyway...The second CD falls hard into pop acts and the likes of the sell-out Nelly Furtado and Las Ketchups...good for a 12 year olds birthday but hardly suitable for a nightclub..(same goes for DJ Casper on CD 1!)The standouts on this CD are probably the only true Dance Mania songs on the albums..Eyeopener-Hungry Eyes and Ultrabeat-Elysium...both addictively good songs.
To end my review I would recommend you buy this album if you love factory-generated pop acts that sing appauling cover songs of old classics...anyone that thinks these songs are original need to do their homework! True dance fans steer clear of this although there are a few gems hidden amongst the appauling pop acts.
