Customer Reviews

The only album from a band that split on the cusp of fame5
This is the only album from a band which split up on the cusp of fame. It is brilliant - there are no really, really weak tracks and many outstanding ones.

I have not come across any other band that sound exactly like this so comparisons are little value, but it is indie music with Celtic strings and a distinctive voice!

The only flaw with the album is that it does not fully reflect their blistering live performances or even the energy of their early demos. If you like this CD, do try and get hold of their demos - you may even be able to find brillient songs (e.g. Docks) which did not make it on to the album.

ruddy good5
it took me a couple of listens to really get into this, but now i can't stop playing it. I agree with the previous reviewer here, they are nothing like the libertines. They have definately created a style largely of their own, and managed not to sound as painfully CBBC as the kooks. A far superior band in every way. This is probably the first of many good records and I cannot wait.

The best new act around5
If you are feeling a bit low, and are in need of a bit of a jig around to music that is guaranteed to satisfy your every need, then look no further than The Freedom Spark!
with a folky, brit pop sound, Larrikin Love are a breath of fresh air to a quickly dying music scene!
if you get a chance to see them live, dont hesititate to go, if you think the album is good, then seeing them live will blow your mind! their stage presence shines through and Edward Larrikin gives it everything he's got, never failing to dissapoint!
buy this album now! its a must have for anyone in need of something new to listen to!
