Nice looking unit , shame about the poor quality sound1
My partner bought me the intempo IDS-01R after I read a review on here of the non-remote model that sang it's praises. The unit looked great, but as soon as you plugged it in it went downhill from there. The dock seemed pretty flimsy for an i-pod to start with. Pressing play resulted in the most annoying background hiss through the speakers as soon as the I Pod screens backlight went out. Things went from bad to worse when you used the remote control to skip from song to song, every so often there would be a whizz a loud crackle and the song would begin badly distorted and then begin to play normally. I was converting vinyl on an old turntable, and the sound quality from a 20 year old record sounded better than an MP3 through these appallingly bad speakers. People said well you get what you pay for, that i'm sure is true, but £30 is still no small amount to spend, and I would want something a lot better than that.

We bought the IWANTIT iW500 instead, and it's miles better than the Intempo. Twice the price, but for quality it streets ahead of this poor quality unit.

It blew up- seriously- but still worked afterwards, so worth 2 stars methinks2
I started with the basic model- because I'm cheap. But the volume buttons didn't work- due to shockingly bad design- so I thought ok push the boat out, another tenner and you get the remote control then you can even adjust the volume on the thing.

So new one arrived and half way throught the first song there was a loud bang and wisp of smoke. It carried on working though, although smoking, so I thought it had to be worth a 2 star review.

I guess you get what you pay for.
