Manufacturer's Description
Burnout Paradise proves that crashing is awesome! Next generation technology has enabled an unprecedented level of crash deformation allowing you to experience the most explosive pile-ups in the series' history. Now the development team can realise their original vision for the Burnout franchise: an open world environment where you can do anything, anywhere, anytime.
Feel the adrenaline course through your veins as you take to the road for the first time in Paradise City, where the action is all around you. Explore the city, discover events, and look for the best opportunities to crash, jump and pull signature takedowns. In Burnout Paradise you're given the keys to the city, but it's up to you to earn the keys to the meanest and most dangerous cars on the street, and earn your Burnout licence.

Burnout Paradise
Let me start by saying two things...
1. This is purely an offline review
2. I have only previously played one burnout game (revenge)
Burnout paradise has turned out to be quite a good and really fun game for me. The graphics are nice and sharp with no slip in the framerate even at high speeds which I think is essential for a game which is played at such a fast pace, the gameplay is good and it sounds realistic too.
I have seen some reviews criticising the open format and free burning, like I said at the start having only played one burnout game before so this new format doesnt really bother me all that much. Sometimes it is a little bit frustrating when your at peak burning speed about a mile from the finish and you miss a turning because the road ahead is'nt blocked off like it used to be, but i find this element of the game fun and adds a little more skill to the game (checking your map at those speeds is not east)
There are a wide variety of events to compete in, every set of traffic lights marks the start to an event, whether it be a race, road rage, marked man or a stunt run. There number of cars available is also impressive with 75 to earn overall (i only have about 40 at the minute) obviously the first few cars are a little slow, but the pace soon picks up and each one takes a little bit of getting used to.
Good price, excellent life span (hours of play) without getting too repetitive and just all around great fun. Well worth a buy if you like arcade style racing games.
oh dear oh dear utter crap ea are getting worse
what is this?all we wanted was another burnout 3 or revenge and we get lumbered with this rubbish.oh so the series had to go free roaming did it?why?its ruined.why oh why do ea do this?theyve totally ruined need for speed,it used to be brilliant.cars running down country lanes against the cops and fast cars in snow rain and the like.then they made it rubbish, with rap songs and underground cities.say wat?then nfs pro street?wat the hell was that?do us a favour ea,either stop making games.or give us a real nfs game like the first ones, give us a real burnout like 3 or for gods sake just sell your company.utter rubbish
Adrenalin rush,great fun.
This is my favourite 360 game so far,its just a big adrenalin rush from the minute you start, love the graphics and the fact you can free roam the streets of paradise city,if you want an arcade style racer instead of a racing sim this is the game to go for, very fast and always something happening.five stars from me.love it.
