Synopsis
Includes the films THE TERMINATOR, TERMINATOR 2 - JUDGEMENT DAY, and TERMINATOR 3 - RISE OF THE MACHINES. In THE TERMINATOR, a ruthless cyborg travels to present-day Earth on a strange mission. He must kill Sarah Connor, a woman whose unborn child is destined to become a powerful enemy of the world's future leaders. In TERMINATOR 2 - JUDGEMENT DAY, Sarah Connor has a son called John, now aged ten. For her the nightmare has almost passed, that is until a second terminator is sent to end the life of the future resistance leader. In TERMINATOR 3 - RISE OF THE MACHINES, John Connor has been living in fear of the events that haunted his early years. T-X--the most powerful machine from Skynet--is sent from the future to kill Connor and the woman that he will eventually marry. In order to protect Connor, the Human Resistance sends a new machine, the T-101 and together they must defeat T-X to ensure the safety of the human race.

Hasta la vista; baby
Great collector's set of the seminal early 80s Sci-fi cult film, and its two follow-ups. With #4 in production, the franchise is alive and well but getting a 'reboot' like many of its contemporaries. So it's high time for a re-evaluation: The first film is a dark and brooding Sci-fi masterpiece; it may not have had a huge budget but Schwarzenegger's relentless cyborg looks as impressively intimidating as he did in 1984.
Part 2 'Judgement Day', is a high-octane rollercoaster of a movie; with the new improved T-1000 and an ambiguous role for the original cyborg, the film had a bigger budget, and it showed. With great special effects and a decent script, this is the more powerful and less rough around the edges big brother to the first movie.
Terminator 3 polarised critics when it was released in 2003. Personally I loved the tongue-in-cheek feel, as well as the deliciously wicked and amazingly sexy 'terminatrix'.
A smashing collection of highly entertaining 'popcorn movies', superb.
Prepare to be Terminated!
This trilogy is amazingly good. Arnold Schwarzenegger is fantastic as the machine assassin created in the future by other machines and sent back in time. The first film involves him assassinating the leader of the human resistance in the future before he is even born and fails in that mission. The next two films are about him protecting the leader as a child/young adult from more advanced terminator creations. The storyline has been marvelous and I can't wait for Terminator 4 to come out which is supposedly the start of a new trilogy involving the war between the humans and the machines in the future. Hopefully it will be as good as the matrix trilogy, if not better.
So buy this trilogy - however it is £4 cheaper at dvd.co.uk inc. free delivery.
3 Great films
Ok, so the third is the weakest, but it is still a great film. the first two are classics, and simply can't be beaten, i guess people are just going to have to accept that. overall, this trilogy is probably one of the best ever made, and that's probably because there was no studio interfering with it. entertaining, well directed, heartfelt even, and last but not least, good stories. now that's something we don't get very often. can't wait for the future. nuff said.
