    Surprisingly solid budget gamepad!5
If you want a cheap functional gamepad, you can't go wrong with this. With a design comparable to the PlayStation console controllers, this pad is comfortable to use and very responsive. The analogue sticks are solid and for a pad of this price you can get a surprising amount of precision from them. Ten buttons as well as two analogue sticks and a POV-directional pad were sufficient for almost any game I used with it.

The pad also features an Analogue button which disables the analogue sticks, but this behaviour wasn't consistent between games. It doesn't interfere with the pad's operation and can't be pressed accidently, so this is only a minor point.

Whilst this controller is very solidly built and quite robust, it will break easily if you apply much deliberate force to it; although at this price if one does break in the line of duty, buy another! You'll easily get your money's worth out of these.

I had one of these for a year until it broke in usage, and I must say it is the best PC gamepad I have used thus far. Precise, solid, comfortable, well built and cheap.

Excellent basic controller, for gaming on a budget5
Let's say this first and get it out of the way:
This is a *BASIC* controller, and is not aimed at people looking for precision gaming - and it will most probably *NOT* work straight out of the box for most games. So if you're the kind of person who doesn't want to download keyboard mappers, this is probably not for you.

Having said that, this is really an excellent basic controller, because it needs no installation disk, and is completely plug-and-play (at least it is on Vista).
Being in the familiar Playstation controller shape, it is quite comfortable to hold, and the build feels quite sturdy.

For real gaming, as mentioned earlier, this will most likely not work directly on a lot of games (for instance it worked on NFS Underground2, but not GRID) so in these cases you will have to download and use a mapper software to map the keyboard onto the buttons - so your game still thinks you're using the keyboard while you're on the pad.
There's plenty of good mappers like JoyToKey, Xmapper etc. that should work.

The analog stick, in my opinion, works pretty much like the d-pad; I didn't really see any "analog" precision, but then for this price I didn't really expect much.

    I would say this controller is aimed at people like me;
someone who doesn't play a lot of games (that would justify buying an expensive controller) and only needs a basic controller, just to keep the laptop keyboard from getting ruined - AND doesn't mind downloading mappers and tweaking around with it.

    Bottom line:
If the above describes you - go for it, you can't go wrong.
But if you need more, this is not the one for you.

    great value5
I got this gamepad mainly to play gta san andreas on the computer. Feels just like my old ps2 controller minus the rumble.

Plugged in and was working straight away, although be aware this is not programmable like some more expensive models. Sure you can program the buttons in-game, if the game allows it, but on gta-sa the dpad doubled up as the left analogue stick and I lost the use of an extra 4 buttons. I tried xpadder to fix it but to no avail, perhaps that doesn't work on Vista but I really don't know.

All in all though I'm very happy with it. Really sturdy, works a treat on most games I have ('cept for that one niggle on gta). Don't hesitate to buy if your looking for a budget pc gamepad.
